Anyone out there her2+ and not taking herceptin?Sorry to take so long but i'm not getting the updates for some reason. On the dosage of EPO I take a day. I take 2-3 of them a day. I also take it for Rheumatoid Arthritis. I'm not sure if I found a dosage recommendation for taking the EPO for the HER2 or not. Cathy |

Anyone out there her2+ and not taking herceptin?Jenniferz, I"m not sure what you mean by "is it anything like a soy product"? It's not a soy product as far as I know. I also can't help you with the Femara question. I'm not on that but you could ask your doctor. Sorry I could not be more help. Cathy |

Anyone out there her2+ and not taking herceptin?I was HER2+ and didn't take Herceptin. I'm 1 1/2 years out now and doing great! What I do take is Evening Primrose Oil. Here are a few articles that show that EPO cuts the levels of HER2 gene. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/33019.php http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2005-11/nu-poc102705.php http://www.cancerline.com/cancerlinehcp/6096_18655_2_0_0.aspx Ultimately you have to make your own choice about taking the drug or not but I hope this helps you some. Thermography-Digital Infrared Thermal ImagingWhen I first started looking for places that do Thermographies it was hard to find. Now in my area there are a few of them. So hopefully in time they will be more available. I live close to a big city in the suburbs so maybe that is why there are a few choices. My one friend has to come down to the cities to have her's done as she lives in the country. Here is a site that explains what a Thermography is. On the right side is more information, questions and actual pictures of the scans if your interested. http://www.iact-org.org/patients/breastthermography/what-is-breast-therm.html Cathy |

Thermography-Digital Infrared Thermal ImagingI have had a few Thermographies since my dx. I choose to not have any more Mammograms for my own reasons. I love the Thermographies. No pain, no anxiety, no radiation, no smashing of your breast. The Thermographies also show how your lymphatic system is doing and after having some of them removed this is a very good thing to monitor. Cathy |

Mushy arm?I'm trying to figure out if this is from the LE, I have a mild case of truncal LE or from something else. The top of my arm muscle is very mushy compared to the right arm. I also have Rheumatoid Arthritis so not sure if this is from that or not.

I don't really like the new format. It's too hard to figure out what your supposed to do.

I have truncal swelling/lymphedema = anyone else?Binney, My massage person said that it has everything to do with LE. We had lymph nodes removed and that interupts the flow of lymph fluid on that side. She thought because I have truncl LE I might have that ear issue more than if it was in my arm only.
I also sleep on that side which does not help. I have been trying to sleep on the other side to help with that. Cathy |

<font class="small">Quote:</font><font class="post"> I thought I was going nuts at first with this constant fullness in the ears. The doctor said no ear infection but why the fluid. Finally they said it could be from the Lymphedema. Recently I hurt my arm/neck and a pulled muscle in the neck area really bad. It was cutting off the flow and immediatly I felt that fullness and very hard to hear out of that ear. No pain though. It's been almost 3 weeks now and it's just starting to get better and I can hear a little out of the ear. When this happens I know I need to see the therapist for the head MLD and pressure points to help with the drainage. I hope you all find relief also. Cathy |

I have truncal swelling/lymphedema = anyone else?Hi Kim,
I'm sorry your going through this. I also have truncal LE. It's very mild now but still needs looking after. I was told to drink lots of water to help the lymph fluid's flow. Good thing I like water and drink lots of it anyways. I also get from time to time fluid in the ear on that side. It takes time to make it go away and it's annoying. MLD massage makes it better. My chiropracter also knows the pressure points in that area to help with drainage. While she is doing it I can acutally feel it draining from my ears. Strange sensation. I hope your better soon. Fractured bone in BC arm? LE concernsI'm back from my x-rays of my arm. Thankfully it's not fractured or broken. They do think I messed up the muscle there. So I have some physical therapy and treatments to do. No sling or cast! Yeah.
Just thought I would let you all know. Cathy |

Fractured bone in BC arm? LE concernsI think I fractured a bone in my BC arm. I'm going today for x-rays. I have trunctal LE but it's very mild. I'm concerned now that this will agrevate it. I have to tell them no casts but what else can they do? A sling is what I'm thinking. The break is in my upper arm right in the middle. What a clutz I am..I banged my arm on the wood part that is sticking out of my steps on the mail floor.
Has anyone had a cast on their BC/LE side? Cathy |

L-glutamineHere is a link to tell you what L-Glutamine is.
http://www.pdrhealth.com/drug_info/nmdrugprofiles/nutsupdrugs/lgl_0125.shtml Before you start to take it, you should have your Amino Acids checked. It's a simple blood test but will tell you if your low in any of them or not. Cathy |

A little Sunshine on the LE Arm?I do, but I'm only out in the sun for about 10-15 at a time. I try to get some sun each day for the Vit-D but not enough to get a burn. That would be bad. So far I have not had any problems with getting sun on my LE side.
