Pre-reconstruction weight gain advice

The back ground:  At the same time as the mastectomy over a year ago, my left breast was reduced to about a size D.  When I saw my PS last week she advised me to "put on a little weight".  She doesn't think I have enough of a tummy to make my right breast more than a small C when she does the reconstruction.

According to any chart I look at I'm already in the overweight range for my height.  When I gain weight it goes to my hips, backside and thighs, not my tummy.

My question is this:  If I gain enough weight so that the PS can build a size D breast will it shrink in size when I loose weight in the future?  I would love to hear from anyone who has personal experience with this.

Thanks

Banana Bread

Splenda is a great idea. I have used in my coffee off and on so I'll try it next time. It should be fine since banana bread doesn't really rise.
Thanks for the idea.

Banana Bread

This is a low-calorie version of my Mothers banana bread. By replacing oil with applesauce and butter with yogurt the calories from fat can be cut by more than half in most recipies. Try it, it works in almost everything except pastry crust.

Banana Bread

1 cup sugar
1/4 cup Vanilla nonfat yogurt
1/2 cup Egg Beaters (or 2 eggs)
3 crushed (very ripe) bananas
1 pinch salt
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup nuts, chopped (optional)

Preheat oven to 400. In a large bowl blend sugar, yogurt & Eggbeaters. Add very ripe bananas, mash and crush them until they are well blended (the batter will not be smooth). Blend dry ingredients separately then slowly add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients. Turn batter into 2 glass loaf pans sprayed with PAM; top with nuts if you like. Bake in a loaf pan at 400 for 40 to 50 minutes. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

Enjoy,
Sandra

Just for fun...What is everyone reading??

I'm reading "Trouble in the Town Hall" by Jeanne M. Dams. Love those cozy mysteries. I try to listening to books on CD during my Chemo appts. Just finished a Hamish McBeth mystery. I'm also reading "A Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren. Just started it but It came highly recommended.
Lauri, I know what you mean about TV. My husband is watching all the 9/11 stuff. I can't, so I'm reading more.

Herceptin?

Wow, what a great friend you are. I'm sure your doing all the right things instinctively without being told what to do. Your friend is very lucky to have you through this difficult time and I hope she is doing well.

Children say the darndest things. Especially mine

This is so funny and brought back to mind another dog story:

A few years ago we were lucky enough to be a foster family to a beautiful, big, black Labrador retriever. He was a breeder for a guide dog school in our area and our job was easy. Love him, keep him healthy and happy and deliver him to the school when they needed him to fulfill his destiny.
The day we brought him home, our neighbor and her daughter were out in the yard and came over to meet the dog. The little girl (who will remain nameless to protect her from further embarrassment) loved the dog and petted him while her mom and I talked. When it was time to go inside we went in out separate directions. The little girl looked back over her shoulder at the big, beautiful dog and screamed: “Mommy! The dogs sick, he has tumors on his bottom!”
