oncotype

My score was 18 with a reccurance score of 12% .I had double mastectomy and started tamoxifen. Later had complete hysterectomy . But back to your question I had grade one with a tumer size of .5 cm. I think no chemo was the best decision for me. About to hit the two year mark.Look at the whole picture not just the onco. score . There is no one answer for us . We each have to make up our minds with the options we are given and then be at peace with it. Get on with life and Thank God for every day.

God Bless and pray for your answer. Elaine

Skin mets????

I have had to have 3 skin cancers removed since I.D.C.

They do not think it is related but sure is funny to me that they came up after my cancer . They have been basal cell they say but one on my left side was really deep and came up fast . I also had one on my left and right chest above my breast. I am pretty sure another one is starting next to one that I had removed a few months ago. Yes I did love the sun but the places that have come up would have been covered up and my doc said they were in weird places if sun related.

But they have been able to get clear margins every time. They did not go away and did not look like a rash more like a sore and they would bleed sometimes if I rubbed them with a towel after my shower.I bet yours is really some kind of rash. I have 3 family members with lupus and they have a butterfly rash on their face at times but it is both sides equal and more noticeable at times . Prayers are sent you way . Let us know what the dermatologist has to say. Elaine

anyone have a re-occurance with bilat masectomy?

Rose I have not been on line in a few days .No my oncologist said I did not need any since I had to have a complete hysterectomy. I was on femara for 8 months but developed a tumor (thank God it was   b-9) But it was 10 cm. and very painful . I had lost my right ovary the month before because a report had said it was on the right side.

So was told next am oh so sorry but now we will have to take out the left ovary as soon as you recover from this . It grew from 4 to 10 cm. in 6 weeks. Anyway now I have very little confidence in some of the doc's I am seeing .Should I just get over it and go on .It is hard since I was made fun of for being scared when I found my lump. The surgeon had me wait for a month for mammo because he said it was nothing . Then found out is was not cyst and after removal turned out to be I.D.C. and the margins were not clear so I freaked out and went to another breast surgeon(who I love )and had double mastectomy. I had abnormal cells in both breast and lost all nodes and some muscle. Nodes were clear but I hear so much about re-occurrence that was really just a miss the first time. Thanks for letting me vent this a.m. and I covet any remarks.Love Elaine

anyone have a re-occurance with bilat masectomy?

I am worried now. I did not have chemo. My oncotype score was 12% distance recurrence and I had invasive cancer. I did have double mastectomy and complete hysterectomy but I am not getting any more treatment .I am now wondering if I needed more .Chemo or rads?

Implants - What do you take before a dentist trip?

I just had a cleaning .My dentist would not touch me until he gave me 1000 mg. amoxil . I am glad he does that .It is easy and why risk it. I already have had to replace once, left boob moved under my arm ,But I will say that exchange surgery is a piece of cake compared to all the other stuff I have had. But I am trying yo watch my weight and I really don't want any more cakes. lolo

Anyone opt to be larger?

I have 475cc silicone and I love them .They are about the same as before a big c maybe a little bigger but they stay where they are suppose to be. I use to have to roll up my post breast feeding boobs and put them in a bra .I am very happy with them now and hey I did get one make that 2 good things from all those surgeries . I also have gained a better relationship with my Lord and Savior .It is a blessing to be in remission. I am learning to deal with the hysterctomy .Fot me that is the hardest .I do not like needing drugs to deal with life but with instant menopause and no H.R.T. my family and friends needed them . lolo

I'm a b!tch without hormones!

I too am a hateful B I hate it for my family but that is how it is no ovaries at 42 and was having normal periods before my hystecetomy. I am no longer the same person and I know it and it hurts. At times I wish that I had just died but I am praying more and taking some me time to try and get better. I feel like I have failed God by needing to take drugs to cope with life. I am also having a lot and I mean a lot of joint pain. Does anyone else feel like you need oiled just to move after sleep or just sitting for a while. I am not overweight and I was in great physical condition (worked out 3 to 5 times per week) before my first surgery but after my ninth I am about ready to give up on getting my life back ever on this side of eternity.

Migrating implant!!!!

I just got mine redone b/c they were moving apart. .My p.s. took them out and replaced them with bigger ones .He said we may need one more surgery to get the best result. I have learned through this 17 month journey never to get in too big of a hurry. I am looking better I think. I had a lady tell me in wal-mart last night, that I looked like a million bucks .My reply as she looked at my chest (I get that a lot ) was I think they cost about that much. lolo.

Bra concern

Ok I had nipples which I love .They look so real but stick out a alot. It has been 7 months since they were done . My problem is if I wear a bra of any kind I get fluid build up at the top of the bra under my arm. I am in the early stage of lymph edema (the tightness crawly feeling slight swelling etc.) I can not go out in public though without a bra. I am allergic to tape .Tried latex free band aids still left a rash on my skin . What to do? Any suggestions from the real experts "the ones who live with it".

I need help

I got a call back from lymph. therapist who is only an hour away . I go on 9-11 (sad day) . I also got a call back from my work. It seems that they abolished my position. They hired a new person that day and transfered another one who is now doing my job. I have been soo blessed though .I am going to be fine . God has not ever let me down and He won't now. I thank you all for caring and for the advice .God bless you all .We will come through stonger, braver and smarter .I now pay more attention to the important things and don't sweat the small stuff. Unless I am having a tamoxifen induced hot flash. lolo

I need help

Thank You all so much .I have been busy the last few days getting my nipples .I am so happy with them. Anyway I have called about getting into to see a lymphederm spec. Have not heard back yet .I am going to read all the stuff NPAT sent me. Thank You for caring enough to take time to do that. God does have angels here on earth. .I am still waiting to hear about my job but I have to send 1200 for insurance on friday and they will not tell me one way or the other . If I send the money and go back to work I bet it will be hard to get it back and that is a big chunk of change .lolo

I need help

I had level 1 & level 2 node dissection along with bilateral mastectomies .I have had a total of 5 surgeries(biopsy, lumpectomy & node dissection, mastectomy, drains replaced, exchange )on my right side . I live in a rural area with little speciality services. I am having some problems with my arm. Pain at times asleep all the time .Ant crawling feeling and tightness at times. Slight swelling at times. I did get the doc to write an order for the sleeve .I use it to walk and do house work. But I am afraid that if it starts swelling big time I will not have anywhere to go for help.
Just a little added note. I was suppose to return to work the 1st of the month. Well it seems now there is no position for me. I think it strange that it was all ok until I gave them the 20 lbs. weight limit for my right side from the Doc. There was no question before. I am a secretary with only occ. time that I would need to lift that much you would think since the office is full of people that I could be accommodated. Oh well God has bigger and better things for me.
