Marla, how are you?Hey - I'm here! So sorry to worry you! I took an "extended vacation" from the boards to focus on nothing but a healthy "c" free pregnancy! All is well. Had a baby girl, who is adorable I might add, March 5th. I must have 9 lives or something...because I had a placenta accretia, and ended up having to have a hysterectomy. But, all is well. I am enjoying life, and if I could get the little "c" demon out of my head completely, I would be 100%. I'd say I'm 99.9% alright! LOL Hope you all have been okay. i'm pregnant!Hey ladies - I've been gone awhile, but I had a beautiful baby girl March 5th, after treatments for stage 3 BC. I was dx at 32, and am 34 yrs old now. I actually read an article that said that having a baby may actually improve our survival rate. It also said that being pregnant wouldn't cause it to come back. That the pregnancy really wouldn't affect that. So, being the positive thinker I am (or try to be), we decided to go for it. Got pregnant the first try. We have our son (7) and now our daugher (3 mos), after losing the twins in my fifth month, just before being dx w/the "c" word. So, I say, do what you feel! For me, it gave me something to look forward to, and helped me kind of forget about the past 3 years. I did, however, have a placenta accretia, and had to have a hysterectomy - and they also removed my cervix. So, this was our last. But, being ever the positive thinker...that's 2 places that the "c" word can't camp out! LOL Good luck & GO FOR IT! (If you want...) Post BC - 1st pregnancyJust had a baby post stage 3 BC. I had a baby girl, March 5th. I was stage 3. July 5th will be 2 years since my last chemo. I found it gave me something new to focus on instead of the "c" word. As far as I'm concerned, I'm cured until they tell me different! Also, I got my hands on an article before I got preggers that said that it may actually be a good thing and increase our survival rate a bit to become pregnant post cancer. I chose to believe what that article said and so far so good. I just poked my head in on the site, b/c of the email I rec'd about the "new & improved" website. Glad I found these posts. Much luck and hugs to you! CONGRATS! Marla Dx 11/17/2005, IDC, 6cm+, Stage IIIb, Grade 3, 9/12 nodes, ER-/PR-, HER2- |

Younger Survivors?I'm 34, was 32 at dx - Nov. '05, stage 3A, 9/12 +nodes. Was dx 5 mos after losing twins @ 18 wks. Did 4 AC, 4 Taxotere, 37 Rads. July '06 was last chemo, July '07 still clear - no cancer (praise God!). Found out 1 week later I'm expecting. I'm now 14 weeks and all is well. I go back to the doctor next week. I do have some knots on the opposite side of where the cancer was, in my abdomen area, but I'm hoping and praying it's nothing. Have a 6 year old and a wonderful husband. There is HOPE! I refuse to give up or to give in!!! EVER! Sending warm wishes and hugs to all of you! Marla |

UPDATE: 1 Year NED and PREGGERS!!!Hey guys! Just thought I'd drop in for a quick update. July 5th, I celebrated my 1 year since Chemo - NED 1 year Anniversary. Friday, July 13th, I celebrated my 34th birthday. Then, today, I found out that I'm pregnant!! After all I've been through with the loss of the twins, and the bc diagnosis, I am soooo thrilled!
They did an ultrasound today and being so early, all we could really see was the sac. I have another appt and ultrasound scheduled for July 30th. We're hoping to be able to see the baby then. I'm so excited, my dh and 6 yr old son is too. Hugs to all!!! Marla |

33yrs old and confused about chemoHey cracker - so sorry you have to deal with this. I was diagnosed at 32, that was November '05. I went through chemo and rads - my last treatment being July '06. I had a 7cm tumor and 9 out of 12 nodes positive. Not just slightly, but cancer was growing out through the nodes. Pretty tough stuff. But, I am happy to report that 2 weeks ago I went for follow up scans and bloodwork and got the "all clear".
I will tell you this. What you are about to go through will be scary - you will have days where you think you can't take anymore. My advice to you is to take one day at a time. Rest every chance you get. Focus not on the entire treatment and how long it will take altogether, rather, focus ONLY on the next treatment that lies ahead of you. Get yourself from treatment to treatment and once you complete one, celebrate "one down"! This will be the hardest thing you've probably ever had to do, but you will do it, you will get through it, and believe it or not, you will be stronger because of it. The limitations you think you have now, you will find are not really there. You can handle more than you realize. Standing on this side of the diagnosis, looking back, I can honestly say that if I had to, I would do it again. There were days in the beginning, where I almost decided to give up. I am so thankful that I didn't. I promise you that you can do this - stay strong for yourself and no one else. Cry when you feel like it, but always always keep a good and positive attitude about the outcome! Never, ever give up! If you need anything, we're here. There are many wonderful ladies that understand exactly what you're going through, so when you think you're losing your mind - ask! There are no "dumb" questions!!! They are all important. Hang in there! ((((((HUGS!!!))))) Marla |

TIME TO CIRCLE THE WAGONS GIRLSHey Deb C. - have a "blast" at rads camp! I'd say "turn before you burn", but you'd best lay real still. They don't much like you floppin around on the table.
