Dancing with the StarsI am glad that Brooke won, but as much as I love Warren, I don't think it was right that he came in second, as a dancer, Lance was so much better than him. Regardless, we do now have a hole in Monday and Tuesday nights. We'll have to figure out some way to fill the time. It's been fun chatting with you all about DWTS - see you next season!!!! Anne |

Not Diagnosed but Concerned + High Risk Women, Created: Nov 26, 2008 08:55 am
Mammograms may cause breast cancerLet me tell my story - it is very much the same as Baywatcher - I started mammos at 35 and continued them yearly until I was 45 or so - then I had a really bad mammo that was so tight, I tried to pull out. 6 months later, a lump appeared exactly where I tried to pull out. I let it go because I assumed it was an injury. Three years later at 49, I had a lumpectomy and it was DCIS with some IDC. I stopped doing mammos after that really bad one and now I still will only do MRIs. I don't believe the radiation from mammos is sufficient to cause cancers unless the person is really susceptible. I do believe you can develop cancer from an injury and honestly, mammos are barbaric. The have to find another way to screen. JMHO Anne |

Telling Your Employer About Your Diagnosis? My boss is also a friend of mine. I got my dx on a Friday and told her first thing on Monday. My company was really good about it - I had two lumpectomies and radiation - while I did the radiation, I got a lap top and worked from home for the entire six weeks. I had very few problems with the surgeries - each time I only took one day (scheduled them for Fridays). Then, by the end of that year, I had a total adominal hysterectomy which required six weeks out with little work - I went on short-term disability for that. That was two years ago. Anne |

Dancing with the StarsThis is it - it's all over tonight!!!! I still think Brooke should win. I like Lance, but I don't think his hip-hop was as good as Brooke & Derick's fifties dance. Although I love Warren, it would be wrong if he won. If Lance were to win, I would not be upset, but IMHO, Brooke should get it. Anne |

Are You Ready For Some Football:Matt Cassell has really suprised me - in the pre-season, he was awful, I wanted the team to pick some one else for QB. He has really stepped up. It's odd, the way Brady got his shot was because Drew Bledsoe had a potentially life threatening injury and when Brady stepped up, that was the first year since 1985 we went to the Superbowl. I don't know if Matt Cassell can do the same, it will be interesting to see him give it a try. Please remember that those are just my thoughts on Brady based on the closed mouths of the Patriots, I could be completely wrong (I hope!). If I am right, he's set for life money wise and he has Giselle. Anne |

Are You Ready For Some Football:Wow, Felicia, it looks like you are enjoying a well deserved good season for your teams. I know you have been a fan though thick & thin. Congrats. I just saw you question about Tom Brady - what I honestly (but hope I'm wrong) think is that Tom will never play professional football again. I think his injury is way more serious and older than they ever let on - it's pretty weird that he did not play at all in the pre-season and he went out on the first play of the season. From the beginning, they said he would not be back this season. After his surgery, he got a bad staff infection that could have been life threatening. The Patriots are so closed mouth about everything, if it wasn't so serious, I think they would have said something. JMHO Anne |

Tests, Treatments & Side Effects + Hormonal Therapy - Before, During and After, Created: Nov 21, 2008 12:21 pm
Alternatives to Hormonal Therapy?Hi Bama, I am similar to Marie, although I did lumpectomy and rads. I had a combo of IDC/DCIS Stage 1. I did not take any hormonal therapy although I did have a total abdominal hysterectomy 8 months after I was diagnosed more for other reasons than the dx, but seemed like the right thing to do at the time. I am 2 and 1/2 years out - so far so good. It is your decision, but it depends heavily on how much risk you are willing to take. It does make sense to at least try it, although I chose not to. Good luck with your decision Anne |

Ok who is going to watch Survivor with me?Tee Hee, Tee Hee!!!! That was a classic and Randy so deserved it. How can he be so arrogant as to believe 1) Bob will find the idol and 2) of course, Bob will give it to me? He deserved it just for his arrogance alone, never mind being such a putz. I loved Crystal at tribal - ummm, who did she vote for
? She let it be known exactly who and why. I have to say, she's not deceptive at all (at least when it comes to Randy). Great show last night.Anne |

Dancing with the StarsWell, we still have another week of this until they choose the winner. DH & I were comparing Kristi to Brooke and wondering if the two of them were competing against each other, who would win. I say Kristi but DH says Brooke. What do you think? Anne |

Dancing with the StarsI didn't notice the blood - did he get hit during the dance? I think it will be Cody that goes home tonight. Brooke kinda fouled up a little bit last night and now it seems to me that the judges are trying to make up to Lance for giving him such a hard time all along. Don't get me wrong, I think Lance's dances last night were the best of the night, but a few weeks ago, he never would have come in first. I think the final 3 will be Brooke, Lance and Warren and the final 2 will be Brooke and Lance. As ever, JMHO. Anne |

CSI Las VegasI watched it and you are correct - it portrayed clinical trials in a very bad light. I do wonder if there are clinical trials like that? That child was only HIV positive - he was asymptomatic from the disease, but he was dying from the treatments. That mother should never have put him into the trial in the first place, so, I guess it also made her look very bad. I think what should be taken away from it is that you really need to do your homework before getting involved in clinical trials. Anne |
