Here we go again

Can you take Tamoxifen? If you can....that may be another option for you. I am on Tomoxifen and will be for about 2 1/2 years and then switch to Arimidex.

Hope you research more before throwing in the towel.

Love,

Terry

Where is.....

Iodine,

I am so glad you were found Laughing. Each of us enter this wonderful site and start up conversations with women we have never met. We glance at their profile photo and we then start to form our bonds. I have always loved your picture.....showing your wonderful face enjoying a nice cool drink. It was always so light hearted.....and it always put a smile on my face when I needed it.

So one morning....out of the blue....I was thinking about all of my different sisters on breastcancer.org and your photo popped into my thoughts. I started to question myself on when  the last time I saw you post.....and that led me to ask for help in locating you.

I hope that your implant is healing nicely and I am so sad to hear about your husband having 2 cancers.....I will keep you both in my prayers. Anyway......I am so glad that I made your day!

Love,

Terry

when did you shave your head?

When my hair started to loosen up and was easy to pull from the scalp I took the scissors to my long hair. I cut it down to 1/2 an inch and felt like Mia Farrow. I did this by myself in my bathroom...telling no one. It was a very empowering moment in my life. I never had hair shorter than by shoulders......so this could have been traumatic...but was not. I came out of the bathroom with my cute headscarf on. My family was surprised when they saw me...but I told them it was something I had to do myself. Everything else was being done TO ME.....by......DOCTORS....NURSES.....TECHS...etc. I did not want my family members to be sad when they saw my hair go away.......I was protecting them.......and me.

As the days went by I would go out every morning and rub my head all over and watch the little hairs fly away in the breeze. I would then put my scarf back on. My girlfriend told me later after I had cut my own hair that she shaved her head but that she didn't like the crunch sound from the stiff little hairs. I don't know if others heard crunching when they shaved their heads....but that was her story.

I also took some pictures just before I cut my hair........when I look back at the photos from that day....I looked so sad. Today I make sure to always SMILE in all of my photos......I feel so much more ALIVE and never want to leave a sad face photo for any of my family albums.

Good luck on your decision.

Love,

Terry

TAC - Sisters 2006 - Roll Call

How many of our sisters who posted on the TAC thread for chemo 2006 still are posting? I remember the thread was started by a KAREN??? and continued into the Fall of 2006. I remember it being a rather active and long thread.

If you are out there.....please post...........

Love,

Another Angel

See through the window,
Look at the light,
Smell the sweet flowers,
See the sky bright,

Shed not the tears,
As you feel I have gone,
Love never leaves
And my spirit lives on.

Talk of me often,
Your words will be heard,
I'll be by your side
As swift as a bird,

Love life and laugh,
Together we'll be,
On the right path,
As our spirits fly free.

"My Spirit Lives ON'

You just popped into my head.........and I felt the need to find you. Anyone want to help me find my fellow sister?

I want my friends back!

LuAnn,

I didn't post much on the threads......but I hold nothing personal against anyone who posted their own thoughts or beliefs. I'm a big girl......and I grew up in a house of 5 sisters, 1 brother, 1 mother, and 1 military father. Even today we have our own opinions about who should be President.......but we put all of that behind us after the election. We elect a President and then it is up to Washington to show their true colors......I am never disappointed...........(sarcasm).

So......I hope my couple of statements will not be held against me.........because.......I have moved on. And....... should I need to discuss Political Topics........I will just post them on one of my Political Blogs that I read now and then.

Sending Everyone All-of-My-Love,

Terry

Ending Chemo Treatment - When will all the side affects end?

It took me about 9 months after my last chemo to feel like I had 80% of my energy back. I also was 5 months in on Tamoxifen when I hit the 9 month mark. I will say that it was the 2 year mark that I really felt 100% back with my energy levels. The fatigue just hung on............Cry but now I am truly back. The mental part of dealing with your new normal is much more difficult for me now......but I am moving forward.

I wish you a fast recovery..........and remember.........we are all different.......kind of like our labor pain stories......Laughing.

Love,

Terry

The Respectfully Republican Conversation

Thomas Jefferson also advised, "A wise and frugal government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of the laborer the bread he has earned. This is the sum of good government. …"

The statement above speaks volumes..................I think I will stay away from CHANGE.

The Respectfully Republican Conversation

The facts speak for themselves......OBAMA......talks with a FORK TONGUE! The problem is that the American People are not being allowed to see the FULL OBAMA! And we are slowly seeing the pieces as the moles in the media trickle it out!

If I have FRIGHTENED you......so be it! His OWN WORDS are being heard......translate them as you find fit.

"Are you so afraid of someone, ummm, how should I put this... different? Read between the lines."

I read just fine..........and I can read between the lines just fine.....thank you. Also....you don't have to be so polite.......(meaning...I think you want to call me a RACIST???). And don't assume because he is 1/2 WHITE and 1/2 BLACK that I am afraid of this SOMEONE. I actually share the same Black DNA that OBAMA has.....so don't play the RACIST word game on me.

Why is Obama asking for a Civilian National Security Force......that will be as strong as our current MILITARY? We already have the National Guard, FBI, Homeland Security Department,  City Police,  and Civilian Militia. The last Country to have a Civilian National Security Force was Germany before WW2. Remember the HILTER YOUTH and the SS????

I can just see OBAMA enrolling all types of Americans and Paying them to join his little ARMY of Communists.......and then he will be able to be their GREAT LEADER (messiah complex). Don't be a bit surprise if they start with the education of your children.....enrolling them in the OBAMA YOUTH group (yes the group will have OBAMA as part of the goup's name). The YOUTH will listen to everything MOM and DAD says and report back to NEIGHBORHOOD COMRADS.....or COMMUNITY ORGANIZER.....and then this CIVILIAN NATIONAL SECURITY FORCE will just bring you in for QUESTIONING and to determine if you may need to be sent to a RE-EDUCATION CAMP....to get your thought process in better alignment.

COMRAD OBAMA is a LITTLE RED DIAPER DOPER BABY: The children of leftist intellectual baby boomers, raised from birth on Marxism and a drug tolerant environment, and now in places of political and intellectual influence.

Tamoxifen and flying

I flew to Hawaii last May 2008 and I take Tamoxifen. I would just make sure you get up every now and then to stretch. I also took a small pillow for my left arm to rest on. All was well.......and I enjoyed Hawaii.
