Connecting With Others Who Have a Similar Diagnosis + Triple Negative, Created: Apr 5, 2008 01:20 am
so scared, it hurtsGlad to hear of the good report! I was diagnosed at 36 with 3.5 cm tumor and 2 nodes positive triple negative. I can not believe it has been 5 years and 3 months since my diagnoses! I do not think it is possible not to be fearful, but that fear will decrease with time. I know it will be pretty hard to get rest with a little one running around, but try to take time for yourself so you can heal! |

Positive lymph nodesHi,
Sorry you are worried, honestly, the only thing that has eased my worry has been time, although I still worry occasionally, it is not always on my mind like it used to be. It has been 4 years since I ws diagonsed (diagnosed at 36) with triple neg, 3.5 cm tumor and 2 positive nodes. I know it could come back at anytime, but I seem to worry less and less with each passing year. I wouldn't exactly say I feel "safe" , I don't think I ever will, but now I do find myself planning more for the future, something I didn't do within the first couple of years! Sending you best wishes! |

Trying hard to lose the pounds!!!!!!!!!I also gained over the holidays-10 pounds!!! I need help too, I have never weighed this much-just can't seem to get motivated. Should we have a weigh in? Or maybe that's too embarrasing, I know it's a bit embarrassing for me to say the numbers out loud, let alone put the numbers in type for all you cybersisters to see. Or maybe that's what I need, a dose of reality to get me moving.

Recovery, Renewal, & Hope + Inspiring Stories, Created: Oct 13, 2003 10:53 pm
Success Stories!Shortly after I was diagnosed in Dec '02 I met a woman at my docs office who is a 25 year survivor(one of my docs first patients!). I was terrified as I was waiting for chemo and she told me her amazing story. She had lymph nodes involved, not sure how many. She traveled from Bainbridge Island to Seattle all by herself to receive her chemo for 1 year. She did great for 20 years, then she was diagnosed with leukemia(don't worry there is a happy ending!). She got very sick and had hospice at her house as she prepared to die. Then one day she had a blood draw and it seemed that it was normal. She amazingly got better. The doc claimed spontaneous remission, as she was no longer receiving treatment. After all of this she was in a terrible car accident and wound up in the hospital for a year! I couldn't believe it. After all she had been through, there she was, smiling and sharing her story with me. I asked what helped her get through all of this and she replied "I have always had strong faith" . What an amazing woman! When I saw my doc he said there is a woman that I should talk to, and I replied that I already had and then he told me her story again. I was glad to hear it twice. Now I must go to watch Lance Armstrong on David Letterman!
