Anxiety Over Port Being Put InNickey, I know you are worried about the port but don't be. I was worried too. I was diagnosed a year ago and after reading your post it brought back so many feelings. The good news is, it's not that bad! In fact after a while you won't even know it's there. It will be sore for a little while after but in a few weeks it will be ok. Good luck with your treatment. You can do it! If you ever need to talk feel free to private message me. It's been a year and I am cancer free and I am feeling better every day. Next year at this time you will be telling someone else the same thing. |

April '07 Camp NukemboobiesBrenda. I just wanted to let you know that if you were on Taxotere or Taxol your toenails have probably been affected. I had 4 toenails fall off and now my big toenails are thick and new toenails are coming in underneath. The good thing is they grow back really fast. I was so creeped out by my toenails falling off. I was thinking what next?!!
No hair, now this? lol Did you toes hurt during chemo? Mine hurt so bad I thought they would explode. Thanks everyone for the congrats on the new grandbaby. I am really enjoying him. He brings me so much joy after all this mess I have been through. Take care, Trish |

weight gain from chemo?I have gained weight too. I have been done with chemo for 3 months and I am at a stand still with my weight. I gained 24 pounds and lost 9 about 2 weeks after my last chemotherapy. I am finally starting to feel stronger so I am going to start walking more and riding my bike. I know what you mean about Uncle Fester. My face was so bloated by the last chemo that my husband called me his apple dumpling...funny for him..not so funny for me. I hated it. It's easy to get down over it. We are bald, scarred, bloated, and tired! I also don't have any summer clothes to wear. I went and bought 2 pairs of capris that don't cut off my circulation and I rotate them. But I think people are on to me..I think I need to go get more..lol

April '07 Camp NukemboobiesI'm finally done with radiation. I am sore and peeling..but I am done! I got done last Friday but I haven't been on because I have been so busy. I became a grandma last Thursday! He is the cutest little boy. I had such a week. They had the baby on Thurdsay at 10:06 and I had to be at raditaion at 1:00. Then Friday was my last boost. I am so glad it is over. However, they found a new lump in my other breast so now I have to go for a breast MRI in 3 weeks when my radiation burns heal. uggg. I am hoping this is nothing. I can't imagine something going on in there after all this treatment. I was in treatment for 10 months with chemo and rads.
I am so happy to read that so many of you are finishing up. Congrats! Trish |

April '07 Camp NukemboobiesWow! So many people are getting done. I am so happy for you all. YAY!! I have my last boost on Thursday. My skin held up pretty good until the other day. I started peeling really bad and it is a bit raw.
Melody, I know what you mean about the safety blanket. I am feeling the same way. But I am ready to get back to normal too! I am thinking about you all and hoping everyone is doing good. Take care Trish |

April '07 Camp NukemboobiesKristin I can't believe you are done tomorrow. That did go quick. Hope your doing good.
I had # 17 today and so far I am doing good but I am really tired. I am just starting to get red but my skin seems to be doing ok. They give free massage therapy where I go so I started that yesterday and it was so nice. I have been having a hard time with stiff joints, especially my hips and knees so she worked on that. Everyone take care, Trish |

April '07 Camp NukemboobiesI had number 4 today and I actually laid there counting the beeps, there were 26 of them..lol some long some short. I have finally bounced back from chemo and have so much energy. It is so nice to feel good again. I hope this doesn't zap my energy too. So far I haven't had any redness or itching. When does that start?

MI SurvivorsHi
I haven't been on in a while. I just started my radiation today. Only 34 more to go! I am finally feeling like me again. My life is back to it's hectic self. Running around doing things for my family and trying to clean the house from the last 7 months of neglect. I will try to see if I can join the team, but my life is so busy right now I have so much going on. A baby shower for my new grandbaby that is due July 1st, My daughters graduation party and prom, and I am the entertainment chair for the Taylor Relay for Life that is on June 2 and 3. I hope I can keep my energy level up for all this through radiation. I hope everyone is doing good. I am going to go back and catch up on the posts. Take care, Trish |

You will not beleive thisYou guys are so funny!! So far I have baked a spoon into my brownies, my daughter cut into the brownies and found the large serving spoon that I used to scrape the brownie batter out of the bowl. I also put an opened package of hot dogs in the cupboard were I keep the sandwich bags. I didn't discover the hotdogs until they were all shriveled up. hee hee.

MI SurvivorsHi everyone. I'm home from the hospital. I was so upset that I couldn't make it to the lunch. I was laying on the hospital bed Friday saying "I have to get out of here, I have to go to meet my friends tomorrow"...lolol I was in total denial that I needed to be in the hospital, but I feel so much better now, and I now know it was the best thing for me. I had my bone scan and it came back CANCER FREE!!! I am still waiting for my CT scan results. I hope I can make the next get together. I loved looking at all the pictures. You all look so great! Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers you sent my way. Take care,
Trish |

MI SurvivorsHi - it's Sue again. Glad you got the post before all of you met. I just wanted to give all of you an update. Trish is still in the hospital, and she will be there for a couple of days. Still no energy, still on oxygen and still getting breathing treatments and IV meds. They are going to bring in an infectious disease doctor to see if they can pinpoint what is going on. I'm pretty worried about her. She has her scans on Monday so she will be there at least until then. I'm sure she'll want me to keep you posted. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers! Sue

MI SurvivorsHi Everyone - I am Trish's sister, Sue. We had to take Trish to the hospital today - very weak and on the verge of pneumonia. They are keeping her to see how she is doing in the morning. She has asthma so she was really struggling. She is SO disappointed that she can't make the lunch. She was looking forward to meeting everyone. I just left the hospital at 10:30 and she was feeling a little better. She'll message all of you when she get's home! Thanks. Sue

MI SurvivorsHi,
I am still trying to work it out so I can come. I will have to have my sister or daughter drive me there. Is that ok. I am hoping that I can make it. It is only about 1 hour away for me. ![]() |
