I am not sure if I was in the chat room at the time, but I do know we had one new chatter who came in recently and told us that his/her mother or grandmother had passed  from bc and also that a friend had bc. However, that person stated that his/her main reason for coming into the chat room was because he wanted to do research, I think it was for a book he/she was intending to write.

Alec - we welcome anyone in the chat room who is looking for support, understanding, comfort and advice- but many of our chatters understandably get very upset when they feel they are being "exploited" for research purposes.

Alec if you were not that person doing research, then I, as a chat room regular, apologize that you were not made to feel welcome - and I personally invite you to come back in. But, if you were the one doing research, please understand that the chat room is not the place for that. Most people in the chat room are traumatized to some extent to begin with and they really cannot handle being "research" subjects on top of what they are already going through.

I had a baseline dexa before starting arimidex- a year later, I had become osteopenic and now also take fosamax. I will have another dexa later this year, so hopefully I will be back in the normal range.

In addition to this problem, I have also now suddenly got diabetes, which my internist says is likely caused by chemo and arimidex. So ladies, please make sure you have your blood glucose tested regularly too.

Hi, I have been on Arimidex for over a year and a half now. 3 months ago my glucose levels were fine, and now all of a sudden, I have diabetes? I haven't changed my eating habits, and I am now wondering whether this could be yet another side effect of Arimidex that they haven't told us about?

Has anyone had the same experience?

Been on arimidex for 1 and 1/2  years. Have weight gain, night sweats and joint pain. None of them too serious though.
