Hi everyone.... screwed up

jacqueline  here i am  you found another person  - dont know how large your tumor was - not even sure how large mine was but here i am   NED  2 1/2 yrs later  -  had the chemo first  then dbl mast and node removal  and NO EVIDNECE of disease in any tissue anywhere

well at least for now i am NED and I totally understand Wallan how you feel   -  i think you should understand why you feel like that -  you put yourself in a situation that scared you - or gave you a dose of the reality of bc  - but i think you should be so proud of yourself for all the good you did for those women!!! i am so proud of you !!!  thats why we all come here to this site, because really no one else can understand how we feel and the anxiety and uncertainity of good health we live with-    i know during checkup times I do start to stress and freak out quite a bit- its normal  hang in there   lots of love and hugs to all my sisters here

couldnt of done it this far without you

Wal Mart Employee dies today?!?!?!

i live in long island - that walmart was in long island ny   i cannot believe what savages people can be ! are they going crazy ?   walmart SHOULD have provided for more security and had that crowd under control with baracades and lines !!!! they should be held responsible for this - if you look at the pictures before the doors opened it was chaos-  that is why I used to hate going to open admission concerts when i was younger-  i was always leary of crowds getting out of control    such a shame that this poor young man should die like that   and to boot- no one wanted to leave the store when they tried to close it     just maddness - my heart goes out to his family   what a tragic loss of life

Hair Hair Hair - Another question

well here i am 2 1/2 yrs from being bald and i have all my hair back !  hang in there  it does come back and sometimes nicer   my hair came back sooo curly - at first i felt like a poodle and just used tons of gel and slicked it back   now i got a keroten treatment and it helps to relax the curls a bit - keeps away the frizzies and is good for the hair

average age of triple neg/and fund raise

wow thats interesting-  they didnt offer that when i had my tx   i had AC & T but on a high note for everyone I had a very large tumor and positive nodes and had adjunct chemo  -  when my dbl mast was done and nodes removed no sign of any cancer   total response to the chemo

thats the great thing about trip neg

Hey calling all Node positve survivors

it is 2 1/2 yrs for me and i have met wonderful women as well  it was difficult right after i finished up everything  - it was just like my safety net was pulled from under me   i discussed it with my therapist and she said it is so common for bc survivors to feel like that   time has helped it has gotten easier but of course right before a checkup or tests that panic feeling returns   life is good though and i am happy again

Location of scars in mastectomy...

i had skin sparing nipple sparing surgery  i have minimal scaring from the side of the breast almost to the nipple on one side and to the nipple on the other  (one side is almost invisible the other much more noticeable-  i did not have the surgeon draw on me when i was up and i wish i did  - i think that is really important  -   the bs is really important to the outcome of the scars too! i think equally as the ps    i think some surgeons do the incisions differently then others   it also has to do with the location of the cancer

Fever and Fatique before dx

Bold - as soon as i read your post on your long hair i was going to email you about cutting it and have it made into a piece you could velcro in a hat, then i read on and saw that you were doing just that!   i had a piece made since i didnt know i could do that with my own hair but i was so comfy and easy to throw on. Losing your hair is not easy,  i wont tell you it is, but it does grow back and i now have pretty long blonde hair again  :)

you will feel better once everything is settled and your plan is in place   lean on all your friends and family and of course us here,  i could not have done it without everyones help      hugs and love ,

I think I have a problem

annie

this doctor is definetly trying to cover his ass and his nurse knows it too which is why she was panicking-  he must think you have filed a malpractice suit against him  just ignore him

dont even take the calls anymore  there is no reason you should be harrassed by his office

you need to just think about yourself and getting well-  i am so angry that they are doing this to you  its just not fair    i would tell his office that if they continue with this harrassment then you will have an attorney contact them    that will shut them up

BIG HUGS AND WISHING YOU A WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING

For those who "could" have Lumpectomy.... why choose Mast?

12 years ago i chose to have a lumpectomy and rads   (i had dense breast tissue and the mammo did not pick it up- i felt it on my own and it was very small)  for 10 years i had mammo/sono  (well what i should have had the last few of those years was MRI)  on the 10yr checkup i felt a lump and went for the mammo /sono   MAMMO picked up nothing / sono picked it up but it saw it as smaller than it really turned out to be-  and  this sucker was over 7 cm and very clearly seen in an MRI - so I could not believe a mammo did not read it    i must have had really DENSE breast tissue   had to obviously this time have the mastectomy and of course i chose a double mast never wanting to ever deal with this again   i responded incredibly to the chemo i had before the surgery which thank god was a miracle because when they operated all the cancer cells were gone 100% response   everybodys choice is so personal and every situation is different but looking back on my choice 12 years ago with the history of my dense breast tissue i wish i would have done dbl mast back then  by the way my reconstruction which is gummie bear high profile silicone look amazing

The part that was not explained as I have been hearing in other posts is that while survival rate is the same recurrance rate is a whole other story   whatever you choose - speak to your doctors  get their opinions and then use that information to form your own decision   in the end its you who has to live with it  xoxoxox
