Anyone on just Taxotere and Cytoxan?

Does the hair continue to fall out with each treatment?

Good Afternoon Ladies,

Today is day 4 after tx#2 and I am feeling a bit fatigued.  My hair continues to fall out, though it is short hairs now, but still annoying!  Had the Neulasta shot on Tuesday and seem to be tolerating it alot better than first time.  (keeping my fingers crossedxxxx)  Going to a Look Good Feel Better class this evening so that should be fun I hear.

God bless all,

Eileen

Good Morning All,

Today is Day 17 for me.  For some reason I decided to check out a wig outlet yesterday and decided on and purchased an ok one.  I am DEFINITELY NOT a hat person, so my compromise was to wear a wig instead.  Somehow I felt I would tolerate a wig, so I went ahead and purchased and had it trimmed.  I wore it to pick up my sons from school and they said it was good, but why did I need it if I still had my own hair?  Well, when we got home, I removed the wig and took the comb to my head and lo and behold I was left with at least one third of my hair in my hand!  WOW, something just told me to drive to that store yesterday!!!  So glad I did.

Someone here suggested to wear a hairnet to help control the "shedding", that was a great idea.  My 16 year old said my shirt looked like a cat had shed on me, and he was right.

My head started feeling strange on Monday, but nothing fell out till yesterday.  I am feeling so much better this week, just in time for my next tx this following Monday!!!Yell

This time I will start the Claritan 24 plus Aleve on Sunday and hope it will kick in by the time I get my Nuelasta shot on Tuesday!

God bless you all for being here and listening to my ramble.

Eileen

Hello ladies,

I have been feeling soooo bad Wed, Th and today!  Had to miss my class on Wed and Today because I felt like I had the flu.  Wednesday evening I began to feel the achy, all over pain in my joints, just like when you first get the flu.  What misery!!  I ended up taking the vicodin the dr. had prescribed and that helped a bit.  Wow! it was horrible!  I feel like I am getting back to "normal" this afternoon, whew!  I believe it is from the Nuelasta shot.  I go on 10/7 for bloodwork and to see dr.

I was taking Claritin, but it didn't seem to help with the pain.

Good Morning Ladies!

I had my first TC yesterday and all went surprisingly well.  I was able to go to my math class last night and actually take a test.  Felt pretty good.

I am scheduled for my Neulasta shot this morning and so far today am feeling good.  Only thing I am feeling is mouth is slightly sore.  Have been rinsing with Biotene mouthwash, spraying with their mouth spray, and brushing after meals with the Biotene toothpaste.

PEEPS:  What did you take for your headache?

I know the line between diarrhea and constipation is a fine one, so how does everyone deal with that one?  When do you know that you are going in the wrong direction?  Should I be taking something every day or just when I feel one or the other?  Also, doctor prescribed Protonix and prescription says to take one every day, but is that really necessary?

Hope that all are well and that each day gets better for all.

Eileen

Anyone starting chemo in October 08?

Hi All,

I too posted on the Sept. thread, but should be here instead because my first treatment is Monday, Sept. 29th(also my dh's 50th birthdayKiss)  He will be spending it with me and the onco nurses, poor thing.

Will have 4 cycles of TC and maybe radiation.

I have 3 sons, 31, 19, and almost 16, and wonderful husband.  Unfortunately, all of our extended family lives in New Mexico, so we must fight this journey without their support.  This website is a GODSEND to me.  The support here is the best!

Am beginning to get a little nervous about starting chemo on Monday.  Good luck to everyone and God bless you all.

axillary dissection

Hi again,

So I had an axillary dissection done last Wednesday, Sept. 3.  BS removed the malignant lymph node, which measured 4cm, and 10 additional nodes.  I am happy to report that ALL 10 were negative!!!!!  YAHOO!!!  So, now they are studying the one malignant with the tissue removed from left breast and biopsies to see if they are the same cancer.  Oncologist has posted my case to her national oncology site to get additional opinions as to how to treat me.  She said she about fell off her chair when the one came back malignant, so it threw a wrench into her plan for me.  Prior to this, her sole plan was to put me on an AI.  Now she is not so sure....DARN!!!  She will see me again on Sept. 22 and hopefully  have a plan in hand.  WHEW!!!!!

Thank you all for your help.

Consider this metastasized????

Hi,

I was diagnosed with DCIS in 1997 and had a right breast mastectomy 0/4 nodes and no other treatment.

In June 2008 I was diagnosed with IDC in left breast, 1.8cm, 0/4 nodes ER+PR+ and am still trying to figure out where I am.  Today got a call from BS to say that CT guided biopsy of a RIGHT lymph node has come back malignant!!  This lymph node had a mild uptake on the PET scan that was done before my mastectomy, but BS said she LOOKED at it and didn't feel it was unusual, so she didn't remove it at that time.  The pathologist wasn't comfortable and insisted she do an ultasound and if necessary, a ct guided biopsy.  She didn't see anything on the ultrasound, so she decided to be safe, let's do a ct scan of the area AND IF it is still enlarged, we will biopsy it......well, well, well, much to her shagrin, the radiologist found that darn enlarged lymph node and did the biopsy.  MALIGNANT!  The pathologist would like for bs to GO BACK in and remove MORE nodes to see if anything else comes out.  Now I would think that this would NOT be considered a metastisis right?  Anybody????  I mean when they did the PET scan, the only uptake was on this lymph node---but mildly--a couple of spots on spine, which were MRI'd and found to be arthritis.  The onc said something about a metastisis, but isn't this a separate cancer?

Help!!

Eileen

Got Cancer? AGAIN????

HensonChi,

I am wondering myself.  I didn't know what it was called.  So if it is regionally advanced, then do they just treat it as a second bc?  If my lymph nodes on my left side were clear, how does it go over to the otherside lymph node?

Nevada ladies?

Hi Bonnie,

I am also in Summerlin.

Who is your oncologist?

I am looking to find someone to get a second opinion.  I have seen Dr. Anu Thumulla(sp?) at the Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada on Peak Rd.

How are you doing now?

August Recontructions Sisters?

Hi All,

Hoping everyone is doing well.

I have a question about drain removal.  I went yesterday to ps and had last drain removed.  It has been in since 8/1.  He decided to do a fill and that was fine, except for today I am REALLY sore!!Surprised

I was doing fine until yesterday evening, when all of a sudden I got a rush---Started feeling really cold and then hot.  I was miserable through the whole night.  I went to bed at 9pm, I usually don't go to bed until 11:30, so I was totaled by the removal of the drain.  Dr. said it was due to removing drain and body readjusting to being without.  WOW!  I was really feeling great up to that point.  I am just so surprised at how my body reacted!  My mother had the same reaction when she had her drain removed two years ago.   Anyone else?
