Is Taxol worse the Adriamycin?

I didn't tolerate the Taxol well at all.  I had the bone pain that lasted for a few days but did gradually get better.  I would get my infusion on Wedneday and the pain would start Friday into Saturday and Sunday, by Monday it started to improve but I had neuropathy in my feet for a long time.

Some women have no problems with Taxol, it all depends.

How old were you?

I was 39, found the lump myself.  I had not yet had a mammogram because I wasn't 40 yet.

not good you guys

Janis,

I am just so mad!  I have been visiting the boards for 2 years now, since my original diagnosis, and have always admired your spunk, you are such a big help to the ladies on this board.  I am praying for either b9 or containment for you, and know you will fight with all your might, and you will have much more time with your boys,

Why am I not upset?

Barbara,

So glad all the scans came back clear..great news for you...!  I know exactly how you feel.  I was diagnosed 4/3/2006 with a 4.5 cm tumor and 2 satellite tumors,  I did neoadjuvant chemo for 5 months and then had a mast.  At surgery, there was no evidence of cancer.  I couldn't believe it..I had a complete pathological response.  I could actually feel the tumor shrinking as the weeks of chemo went on.  HAng in there!  You will get through it. And the ladies here are amazing!!!

Stage 3 and port removal

I just got my stitches out today from my port removal.  My oncologist encouraged me to get it out and move on!  I had my last HErceptin in June and it has been one year from my surgery (had chemo first).  If I ever need to get a port put back in (god-willing I won't), then I can get it put back in.

Hey girls

Hi ladies,

I have not been to the boards for a while. Summer is so busy with the kids home (13, 11, 9). I'll take this summer over last summer anytime! I can't believe I am coming up on year since my last chemo treatment (Aug 23). I finished herceptin on June 14. It is so strange adjusting to life without constant doctor visits. I feel like my safety net is gone.

Hope everyone is having a great summer! We just got back from Disney..had a great time.

Take care,
Beth

Hey girls

Hi Kim,

Good to hear all is well! Elizabeth Edwards did hit me hard, especially since I am currently at my one-year mark (Apr 2) and am having all my follow-up tests. My heart breaks for her andd women going through it.

It is great to get back to the crazy schedule, especially since I was absent for most of it last year. My children are involved in baseball, track softball, boy scouts, dance..we are out every night!

I live in southeastern pa also.

HAve a great weekend!
Beth
