alkaline phosphotaseAnyone have an elevated alkaline phosphotase? I am due to finish herceptin next week and have been having an elevated alkaline phosphotase for the last 2 months. It isn't tremendously elevated and went down a little last time it was checked 2 weeks ago, but now I have to go for an ultrasound of my liver. I haven't even finished treatment yet and I started 14 months ago! Sue |

When do I start the L-Glutimine?I took 30g a day of powder that came in little envelopes. I purchased it online. Also took 100mg B6/day. I only had a little numbness in my feet about a week after I finished and it went away within a month or so. Also my teeth were very sensitive to hot for a while. Finished taxol about 6 months ago.

Bilateral mastectomies, anyone?Taught to go across the chest to the prophylactic side, I think the nodes there should not be compromised.

Metastatic DiseaseNo- metastatic is when it travels to a distant organ, the nodes they check don't count.

My MUGA went from 70% to 60% after 6 months. I can't feel the difference and no other side effects. |

chest wall recurrence?Robyn
Did it feel like a lump? The surgeon didn't really want to cut me open again as I also have lymphedema. Sue |

chest wall recurrence? How do you know if you have a chest wall recurrence? I had a mastectomy with an unclean margin. Had a re-excision that did not find any additional tumor. Finished rads about 2 months ago and the scar from the re-excision has a lump. Is it scar tissue that has become more prominent after rads? I am going for an MRI next week, don't know if this is the best test.

Genetic Testing & Her 2+++Have the test, you don't necessarily have to get a bilateral mastectomy, you could just be monitored with MRIs,etc.
Also there are other types of reconstruction too. Did the chemo make you go through menopause anyway? I'd get my ovaries out in a minute if anyone told me it would be of benefit. Sue |

Herceptin & WBCAs far as I know the main problem from herceptin is heart issues, it does not seem to affect the bone marrow (blood counts)

Can we do a Her2 roll call?Dx 7/06 almost 1 year ago. Stage 2b, on herceptin every 3 weeks until November, 6 month MUGA was 60%, down from 70% after A/C. Hope it doesn't go down more. 1/24 nodes. Everthing seems OK, wish I could do more.

Herceptin side effectsHad nasal bleeding on taxol/herceptin but it stopped after the taxol was over. Maybe a little runny nose. No other obvious side effects, but MUGA went from 73% to 60%. Can't feel it though.

Am I the only one?I was told that the MUGA is more accurate. The tech who did my last one that said the ECHO shows more variation depending on who is interpeting it, at least I think that's what she said.
