Need Hope Being Node Positive

Hi Marly- I just wanted to comfort you and tell you I had many positive nodes back in Feb. 2003 and I am here today to tell you that. I was triple negative and had a complete response to dose dense AC and Taxol (plus 6 1/2 weeks of rads). I am so blessed to be here! Enjoy each and every day! My husband 1 1/2 yrs ago was diagnosed with Myeloma so living for our almost 6 yr. old is our only focus! Having a positve attitude and praying to God for all He has give us is why we are here today. God Bless!!! Dunner

What to do...

Hello All- I am writing for a friend of mine who was recently diagnosed with BC. She had a mastectomy (1 side and an expander put in) and when the path. report came back she was told that she had lymph node involvement. They want to go back in and remove the nodes before her chemo/radiation treatment. She is thinking why not do chemo first and then do a pet scan to see if the chemo got rid of the positive nodes. Also can you do radiation treatments when you have expanders in??? What are your thoughts??? Thanks in advance... Dunner

close friend has brain mets..help wth coping please!

Dear Ravdeb- I just wanted to pipe in and say I can soooo relate to your story! I had a dear friend who was diagnosed right after me. I made it and she didn't from this terrible disease. I was there to support her in anyway that I could and you are doing the same for your friend. Bless you. Her just knowing that you are there for her spiritually or in person must be so comforting to her. Prayer is also the one thing we can do at any time of day. I will pray for your friend in hopes that she is free of pain and the IV brings her back to the way she was. You are one special person and you ARE doing all that you can do. Give yourself a hug! Take Care- Dunner

Bimmer gets hate mail.

Ok I just have to add my 2 cents to this conversation! I have a friend who passed away from bc 2 1/2 yrs ago and left behind a wonderful husband and three beautiful young children. She had told him to find someone else to live his life out with,be happy and don't be lonely. He did just this and everyone in his family were very judgemental toward his decision to date and made it very hard for him. Well- after much anguish that he hid from everyone, he went to his wife's grave and shot himself. So the moral of this story is we need to mind our own business! Let life play out on our own terms as long as we are not hurting anyone (ie the children). Bimmer I say do what's best for you, pray for those that are ignorant and find someone so your loneliness subsides. Better yet- go and volunteer and help those that are less fortunate. They will fill your heart with so much joy! Dunner

do all tnbc get chemo?

Dear Susan- I think you have made the right decision. You will never have to look back and say, "if only I had done chemo". I am almost five yrs out after having dose dense AC and Taxol. Just think you are going into WWIII and you are going to win the battle!!!!!! My only advise is take your anti-nausea pills. It is not as bad as your mind is probably telling you. If I had to do it again, I would in a heartbeat. Best of luck to you!! Dunner

I am here almost five yrs. later kissing the ground I walk on! With many prayers and a positive attitude we can make it no matter what the outcome is. Stay well- Dunner1

Ter. .

Hi Ter- Where the heck have you been! Only kidding! I was so glad to see your post today and as always I am sorry for all that life is dealing you. As far as the house goes- who cares... It is people that are the only important things in life! Well here in Ct. it is a very very sad day. My good friend who lost his wife to bc two years ago, committed suicide. Three young children and we are all in total shock. He started a Research Fund for BC and raised over $600,000!!! He was a wonderful man who died of a broken heart and life will never be quite the same. So say a prayer for all the Brodeurs because that is all we can do! So be tough and stay strong. As far as the baths go maybe try a shower chair. Love and Hugs- Dunner

scared

Dear Roxy- I would be dead by now if I listened to my doctors, believed in what I read in books and what I learned from the internet! I am almost 5 yrs out from a Stage 3 diagnosis! So keep your chin up and be a fighter!!!! You can do it because you are a winner. I completely believe that the whole BC thing is a crap shoot. Live for the moment and keep on saying "I am INVINCIBLE"!!!! Attitude is everything!!!!!!!!! I firmly believe that with the Power of Prayer all will be fine. Love and sending you lots of positive energy!!! Dunner P.S. I did the TAC regemin too with positive nodes...
