I'm bitchy, I moan, I groan.....anyway.

Ok ladies, put down your snacks, plates and glasses, cans on soda and such - Here's something to make you laugh (Heaven knows it made me laugh and I needed it!)

AMAZINGLY SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES:

1. AVOID CUTTING YOURSELF WHEN SLICING VEGETABLES BY GETTING SOMEONE ELSE TO HOLD THE VEGETABLES WHILE YOU CHOP.

2. AVOID ARGUMENTS WITH THE FEMALES ABOUT LIFTI NG THE TOILET SEAT BY USING THE SINK.    IT ALL GOES TO THE SAME PLACE ANYWAY.

3. FOR HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE SUFFERERS ~ SIMPLY CUT YOURSELF AND BLEED FOR A FEW MINUTES, THUS REDUCING THE PRESSURE ON YOUR VEINS. EVEN GEORGE WASHINGTON DID THIS! HOWEVER, REMEMBER TO USE A TIMER.

4. A MOUSE TRAP PLACED ON TOP OF YOUR ALARM CLOCK WILL PREVENT YOU FROM ROLLING OVER AND GOING BACK TO SLEEP AFTER YOU HIT THE SNOOZE BUTTON.

5. IF YOU HAVE A BAD COUGH, TAKE A LARGE DOSE OF LAXATIVES. THEN YOU'LL BE AFRAID TO COUGH.

6. YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

7. IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

DAILY THOUGHT: SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE SLINKIES - NOT REALLY GOOD FOR ANYTHING BUT THEY BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE WHEN PUSHED DOWN THE STAIRS

Gentle Hugs,

Trish

Well, my good news got overshadowed by more car trouble.  My car was in the shop last week and now this weekend it's my son's car.   It also seems dd may have broken a toe.  It just seem we can't catch a break.  At least none of this crap is my health related (knock wood!)

Gentle hugs

Hey all and here's a big THAT SUX for those who need it!

I have an SOI today, my ct scan (6 month) came back clear (except for gallstones wth?).  My initial bloodwork that was run at the onc's office came back within parameters!  It has definately made my weekend.  Don't have to see the onc for 6 more months.  Hope that the guy upstairs hears everyone's IOS's and gives them comfort.

Gentle Hugs,

Trish

dcis non invasive then why worry?

Here's my story.  Starting in 1998 I began getting my yearly mammograms (age 35).  No reason, just wanted to have it started.  I skipped ONE year (2006).  All prior mammos were fine.  In 2007, they found microcalcs in my left breast.  After biopsy, found DCIS.  As I was an A cup and according to MRI and ultrasound, it was found to be all through my breast (5 cm x 4 cm x 8 cm), and Mastectomy was recommeded.  It was in the pathology after my surgery that they found 8mm invasive.  It was only one year between mammos that this showed up.  As to bad margins, I did end up having radiation.  I hope that you find the info that you need and make a decision that you are comfortable with.

 Gentle Hugs,

Trish

Have a minor IOS today.  My dd shared and gave me her cold.  Normally I would not be worried but I go in for my 6 month bloodwork on friday.  Does anyone know if there would be any problems?

Gentle Hugs,

Trish

Tamoxifen and Hair Loss - Thinning?

TexasGal,

I have been on tamoxifen for a little over a year and I don't think that I have had any hair thinning due to tamox.  I happen to live in Hurst as well.  Do you mind me asking who is your dr.?

Gentle Hugs,

Trish

Hello all!

Well my CT scan went without a hitch, but of course I didn't drink enough water to flush the crap out of my system and now i feel like the Hindenburg (gas bag about to blow). And now I wait for results.  My IOS today, my car decided that it was going to really act up.  It's been not starting on the first, second or even third try (sounded like battery going out).  This morning it took 6 cranks to get it started.  Moved it to the driveway to wash (looks good - finally) and then start it to move it back in the garage and all hell breaks loose.  Luckily I live less than 2 miles from the dealership, had ds follow me and let the engine run for the tech to listen.  He has me shut it off (it still ran with the key out) and as this was going on, white smoke starts to billow out and the battery cable starts to flame up.  Just what I need (in between all the other expenses that miracuously appear at the same time).  MIL needed a ramp for her wheelchair built, had to buy ds a used car for college, dd had ear surgery, same dd needs glasses, it just never ends!!  It'll calm down after Christmas just to pick back up again in February/March.   Ok - I've done my vent - not much as it goes, but it's mine.

Take care everyone,

Blessings

Trish

Only a minor IOS today - Why is it that when the weather is BEAUTIFUL outside (Texas right now is gorgeous  83 degrees today!)  I have to suffer at work wearing a sweater and a jacket on top of my shirt!!!!   We call the restroom the Artic Zone because it's so cold ( pee freezes before it hits the water!!)  Hope I don't get a cold from this!!

Gentle Hugs to all!

Good evening all and a hearty THAT SUCKS!!!!

I went out of town to my sister's wedding (nice one).  My only IOS is that I didn't sleep well and my dd lost a bracelet that my overseas relatives bought for her.

Traci, I live in Hurst.  It would be nice to meet up.

Sorry I can't post more tonight.

Gentle Hugs,

Trish

time for me to tell my story

Dee,

I know what you're going through and you will get through this time, I promise.  I also started out in the chat room like Sharon did.  You may find that to help you as well.  I sent you a pm.

2nd opinion: Pathology?

I figured I would, but I thought I get others' opinions (don't want to give the ins. co a reason to deny anything)

Clear margin question after lumpectomy

boobytrapped,

Love your name!!!!  It does sound odd to me too.  I would speak to both oncs to find out their opinion.  When you speak to your rad onc, ask how they plan on mapping out your treatment and type of treatment.  Do you think that you can do the radioative seed rads?  (I'm not sure of the terminology on that one).  Good Luck and keep us posted.

Hugs,

Trish

Hello ladies and here's a "That SUCKS" to all.  My IOS, I have no problem when the ladies here on bco post for help, but there is a poster that is asking for votes so she can win a free wedding.  I did a quick check and that the ONLY thing she's posting.  I hope she's not playing on emotions to get her free wedding.  Ok - I whined, complained.

Traci, Sue - yes it is a little chilly here today isn't it!  We love that 110 degree weather in July right?!  lol  Yes I'm wearing a light sweater at work.

Gentle Hugs all!!!!!!!!!!

My path report had an addendum that noted the dcis was er+/pr+ (before they found the idc of course)

2nd opinion: Pathology?

Barb,

My cancer was clear cut so I'm not debating that dx.  I have a nagging feeling regarding one lymph node.  The wordage on the path report has me stumped but it didn't affect my treatment.

I have no idea if or how common it is to have a significant different dx after a second opinion.  If there are wild discrepancies or questions, then that would make some sense that a different dx might be made.

My question still stands though, will insurance pay after a year to have the slides re-looked at?  Anyone?

Hugs to all,

Trish

Surgery tomorrow & Aunt flo

Proud,

I had a unilateral mast with immediate recon, and my Aunt Flo showed up the day after.  I did handle it ok (my cycle is painful and heavy but didn't seem to be that time tho).  I had just got off birth control pills 2 months prior to my surgery.  I honestly think the stress of surgery brought it on.  Hope all goes well.

Trish

2nd opinion: Pathology?

Would insurance cover the 2nd opinion even after a year from surgery and dx?
