The Ride to conquer cancer 2008

Hi Lucy,

Last year my 2 sons who had already registered said to me : "you can do it Mom"  I registered.  So I went to buy a road bike and started training last fall. I do not like gyms or any indoor activity. In Winter I walked and cross country skied 1 to 2 hours every day. When the roads were ice and snow free I started biking, pretty late, I live on Georgian Bay and our roads here are not salted. My biggest concern was sitting on the saddle for long hours . (Have to start slowly and every 3 days or so.) The Ride was great and riding over the finish line gave me a feeling that I accomplished something important to me. I was not exhausted or tired from the ride just feeling good.

BTW I registered for 2009 in team with my sons and a friend of theirs.

The Ride to conquer cancer 2008

I made it up to the end!

I participated in the over 200 km bike ride from Toronto to Niagara Falls on June the 21 and 22.

It was a very great and emotionelle experience and arriving at the finish line the cheering was overwhelming.

A Year ago I never thought I would be able to this.

We all raised over 14 Million Dollars for Cancer Research benefitting the Princess Margareth

Hospital in Toronto.

Was somebody else of you on the Ride?

Cheers

Hi All,

I am from Ontario Georgian Bay and training for the 200 km Bike "Ride to Conquer Cancer"  in June.

Is there anyone else out there who will participate in this event, which will benefit the Cancer Research Centre of Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto.

Fatigue or my imagination?

In May 07, I finished my rads are on Arimidex since 4 months. I feel just great during the rads and after. It is like nothing happened. I hope it stays like this.
The only thing are moderate hot flashes since I went off HRT in january.
I must mention that I am a very active person.

I wish all well who are not so fortunate as I am.
