I'm sending the silicone nipples to CindyMN.

I'm very happy with my surgery but  it does look like the nipples aren't exactly even (one's a little higher).  Probably due to the radiation.  Oh well. Considering everything, this is small.

So glad to see everyone posting!

Does anyone need a pair of silicone nipples?  I will send them for free.  They are very nice and stay right on your skin.  I tried them on once and would use them if I hadn't opted for the nipple reconstruction.

Hi Everyone and LeeAnne!  Haven't seen you here in a while.  Glad to hear everything's good with you.  My hair is still curly as heck and yep, I'm gaining weight too.  Hard to exercise with the extra pounds.  Walking the dog helps me at least get out there.  Hope everything goes ok with Rosie.  Thanks for the Fekkai glossing cream tip.  I have at least 3 or 4 styling products that I try on different days.  Favorite is Garnier Fructis so far.

Lar you look great.

Cindy, thanks for the Ellen show report.  Sounds like a ton of fun.

Traci--good thoughts for you and sis.

Virginia--thinking about you.

Hi to Lorain--I got new nipples--did you?  So far I love them, but one of them looks like it isn't healing so well.  But it's only been two weeks so I'll give it another week before I call the ps.

 xoxo

Liz

Wow Virginia--your hair is getting long!  Mine is growing, but it's growing OUT.  It just gets bigger and bigger.  If we ever buy a new digital camera I will post a new picture.

I will try to watch Ellen on Oct 1.

I am having my nipple reconstruction tomorrow!

My Dad's been going through some medical issues, so the thoughts of losing him and the sadness have been on my mind.  Hope you're doing well Virginia.

 Hi to Everyone--the Cindy's, Traci, Lorain, who'd I miss?

HI VIRGINIA.  You look great.  This is my most recent photo.  Hair styling is fun.  But I don't look like myself still.  I do get a lot of compliments on the style, but I think people just want to be nice.

I'm doing great.  Starting grad school next month.  Hope you're all doing well!

Amanda,  I do think that JC works.  It is good for portion control and it is a balanced diet.  The foods are edible.  You really have to add plenty of vegetables, some fruit and dairy to make it work.  They stress healthy eating habits.  But it is definitely a short term fix in my opinion.  Not the healthiest food for the long haul, but it is a good way to get back to a healthy weight.  We can focus on healthier food choices later when we are at a sustainable weight and can do some exercise.  I be happy to answer any questions and you can email me at liz.yeh@cox.net anytime.  Let me know what you decide!

Hi Everyone!

Love the baby pic, CindyKS.  And keep kicking those mets' butts!!!

Lorain,  I hope you'll be happy with your reconstruction. I like mine more every day.  Even after the radiation they still look and feel fine.  Hope it stays this way.  I would definitely wear a bathing suit and I've found some great tanks with the little shelf bras. No need for full support anymore!  It's awesome.  My wardrobe is really going to change now.

Cindy/Lorain, I am on Effexor too. My onc is very skeptical about it, but i think my hot flashes have been subsiding.  It's less than a month so far, so maybe it'll get better like Lorain was saying happened to her.  My onc & gyno also said I could get my period back and maybe that is why they're getting better.  But they're not gone yet!

I started Jenny Craig last week.  I just can't stand my body right now and I need the sense of control that I get from the portion-control.  i want my old body back.

Who's taking Tamoxifen?  I just started up again now that my radiation is finished.  I think I'm feeling achey and I hope it's not the Tamoxifen that's doing it.  I'm feeling a bit swollen too.  Maybe my body will adjust but I am a little nervous about it.  I'm ready to feel good again.

Hey Vir.

Good to hear from you.  Sorry to hear your dad's back in hospital.  I think about you a lot even when I don't post here.

I went out for the first time yesterday without a scarf or wig--just to my radiation appt, but it felt like a huge deal to me.  I have just enough hair to cover my scalp now so I thought I would see if people would stare or laugh and point ;-)  Anyway I think I need to brighten up the color a bit so I'm going to try Natural Instincts.  I used it before and it's pretty easy.

Hi to all.

Virginia,  Hope your Ddad gets better quickly.  I also hope you're doing well and taking care of yourself.  And your hair is really going crazy isn't it!  New hair styles for us.  I can't quite bring myself to stop wearing scarves and wigs, but I can't wait.

Sorry I've been awol.  Life's busy.  Rads takes time and energy.  Trying to do everything like I'm back to normal doesn't work when you're going through treatment.  Even something as easy as this. I think I'm coming down with something today--been coughing and feel pretty tired, but there's stuff going 'round.  Rads is going ok--getting a little rash but not bad overall.  Only 3 more weeks left.

CindyKS, hang in there and wear more sensible shoes ;-)

Lorain, You look great.

Good to hear from you Amanda, CindyMN, CindySoCal, Traci,  Lar/FiFi!!!

Sounds like every one else is doing good.

Love to all.

Traci!  LOL.  I sent you pictures  of my implants back in December or January.  Didn't you get them?  I just got  a bra from victoria secret that makes them look fabulous.  It's padded and wireless and it gives me a nice natural shape and smooths out those scars.

Lorain, Thanks for asking. I like my implants and radiation has been going fine so far.  I'm still worried that the radiation will cause capsular contraction but so far so good. I'm sure you'll be so happy when you have your exchange.  I hope to be able to die my hair pretty soon.  My bald spots are almost gone but hair is still very fine.

I'm really sorry to hear that Cindy.  It sounds like you're ready for a fight against this so you can be around for grandbaby.  I think you have the right spirit.  Let us know what you need from us.  If you need to talk or whatever we're here.

Big HUG!

Hey Cindy MN--you didn't post the new pic in the yahoo group.  Did you give up on yahoo?  I can't keep track of who's over there, who's only over here, and who's doing both.  Did you not have an avatar all along?  Maybe it was the other Cindy's, but  I thought I had seen your pic already.

Cindy KS--thanks for sharing your pic.  I would get too cold without something on my head and I live in So Cal.  And I have some hair on my head.  Of course I whip my scarves on and off all the time--because of the hot flashes!  But even if it was nice out, I always felt self-conscious because my head wasn't completely bald ever.  I may have gone out bald, but not with my weird half bald half fuzzy hair.  Hope you're doing good tonight and your scan and your chemo go well.

Lorain,

It's like you say, the everydayness of it.  I'm not having any problems per se, just another thing that is making getting back to my life difficult.  And I'm fighting a cold.  I want to lie in bed and rest and I can't.

But I'm trying to have a good attitude about it.

Virginia, It breaks my heart what you're going through.  Hang in there and ask for help when you need it.  It's so sweet of you to think of everyone else right now.

Wow, Traci.  That is some story with your brother.  It seems like if he's financially responsible, some parental rights should also come with that.  Plus how does he know it's his?

Cindy,  I want us to get together too.  I just have to get my act together and  get myself into some kind of routine so I can get everything done. I have two doctor appts next week that need to be rescheduled.  I may try to get my rads appt changed to AM.

Tomorrow I have my first gyno appt since my dx and it's my husband's birthday and it's Super Tuesday!  Hope everyone's voting!

Hi to everyone else!

Amanda, I totally know what you mean about the anger.  Starting up the rads last week kicked it off for me.  My husband got busy at work and worked late all week and I felt like the support system has just stopped.  Everyone was all over me when I had surgery and chemo and now it seems they just think this is no big deal.  And I am finding it is a bigger deal than I thought.

My husband went to a political rally in L.A. today.  First I couldn't believe he asked if I wanted to go because I woke up with a pretty bad cold today and I'm still recovering from a crazy week.  So I told him to go without me.  He came home with lists of people to call to get out the vote--I would normally think this is great, but he expects me to call people on top of everything I'm going through and I have a hard enough time getting my own work done.

So yeah, I'm experiencing some anger right now.  I took a xanax tonight hoping it would chill me out.
