Is anyone else an atheist with BC besides me?

Ladies , I have been reading some of your post even though I am very much a believer in God, and I cannot imagine going through this without him by my side, he did not let me get cancer he says he will be there for me when I need him and he is, because my cancer was big and scary and I made it through and at surgery it was gone, but what msphil was doing is just letting you know how she feels about religion just like you guys are, and everyone has there own opinion and they sure are entitled to it, I'm sure she meant no harm and I sure don't, I love to hear how other people feel about their beliefs

Just diagnosed, chemo B4 surgery??

Sue, I also had a large tumor 4.3 cm and I started on chemo before surgery 4 acs and after my third the tumor could no longer be felt at all and when I went in to my surgery the Dr could not even find where it had been except for the clips left in when they did the biopsy, so the chemo can really do a good job for most people, you will get through this just trust in the lord which is what I did and he sure answered all of my prayers. Thanks flalady, I would really appreciate it if you would, the scans were done downstairs from her office so she probably could get them anytime and last time when I had scans when I was first diagnosed they called me .

Scans yesterday

Oh my goodness how can one person be so scared, I am absolutely so on edge I cant hardly stand it I had my scans yesterday they are my first ones since ending my chemo on new years eve, and I am just anticipating the worst for some reason I cant explain , the waiting is the hardest when can I expect them anyone any idea?

Scans tommorrow

Hey girls, well scans tommorrow and I am terrified they will find something, my last chemo was on new years eve 2007 and my last radiation was april 2008, I am so ready to just call them off and not do them because of fear of what they might show, I dont have any pain or anything to make me believe they will its just what if? I really wish my dr would not want them done but she believes in scans every 6 months for awhile, any help to get through this would be much appreciated

Well ladies , I am scared out of my mind, on the 26th of aug I will be having my first scans since my treatment ended ,I dont know how to get it out of my mind,my oncology surgeon says I will be fine and not to worry, she said you had a perfect outcome to your chemo the tumor was gone at surgery and 6 years from now you will look back and smile about this, but no one knows for sure do they, I guess I would rather not have the scans at all but my dr beleives in them every six months for awhile.My chemo finshed on dec 31st 2007 and radiation in april 2008.

Scans

Hey ladies, I will be having scans in August and I cant hardly stand the thought of it , I am really nervous about this they will be my first since my treatment ended , chemo ended on new years eve and radiation in April , how do you prepare for these I am so scared they will find something even though the tumor was completely gone at the time of my lumpectomy and my surgeon says everything will be fine , it consumes me every day just thinking about what might be.Any help to get through this would be much appreciated

Hey everyone I went for my six month check up yesterday and wouldnt you know she is one who believes in doing scans no matter what, so she scheduled me for aug 26 for a ct and bone scan.

I am totally terrified of this even though I really need to know I am clear, I am triple negative so she worries more about me than some others even though my chemo completely knocked my cancer out at surgery time no invasive cells left, how do you get past the fear of havine these scans

BC in 05 now its back in a lymph node

Hi Healthteach, no she is triple negative like me, they have started her on a chemo pill and radiation which thats how they found it , by doing the cat scan to start radiation, the drs say it is deep in the collarbone lymph nodes and if this doesnt work they dont know if there is anything left to do.

BC in 05 now its back in a lymph node

Hey girls ,I need your help I have a friend who is 27 and had idc they did a double masectomy and she had 4 positive nodes at diagnosis, she did 4 rounds of ac and then 4 of taxotere, now just when she is going to start radiation they do a pet scan and the dr said some of her lymph nodes lit up so then a biopsy on them and they came back positive for cancer, the dr says not much to do but try radiation and a chem pill other than that nothing can be done, I just find it hard to accept this anyone have any suggestions .

How many treatments before tumor starts to shrink?

I had 4 ac before my surgery and after the 2nd one I noticed a difference it had gone from 4.5 cm to 3.8 and then after my third treatment I had an ultrasound and it was half the size about 2.4 and after my fourth it was surgery time and believe it or not it was completely gone when the dr went in to do the lumpectomy she took out 11cm and the pathology report could not find one invasive cancer cell left, not even a tumor just the pocket where it was, ladies God answers prayers even mychemo nurse said she couldnt remember ever seeing this happen, so remember ladies he still heals even today.

Question about radiation

Wintermoon the radiation is to try and prevent a local reacurrence in your breast, the chemo is to kill any floating cells that may have escaped. Good Luck

Is Triple Negative a bad thing?

Cookie , I also had a large tumor 4.5 cm, i did 4 ac/4 taxol and after my 4th ac my tumor was gone, it started shrinking immediatly after the first ac, I than had a lumpectomy and now am finished with chemo and starting radiation, I am also large breasted,are you doing chemo before surgery ,that is how they know if the chemo is working or not by the tumor shrinking, I was able to work through my chemo also .I wish you the best

Anyone starting Rads in January?

Well ladies I finished my chemo on new years eve and now on to the radiation, I meet with my dr on the 16 th of jan , how many does one have usually, and what are the things to look for, I have neg nodes but am triple negative.
