How about a big pot of soup or chili instead of a casserole?  You can get packages of soup mix at the grocery store (Bear Creek is one brand)  that are really good and all you need to add is the meat.  A big loaf of Vienna or French or garlic bread and maybe a cake for dessert and you're done. 

Once we find such things and start wondering what it could be (and we always imagine the worst) we are miserable, nervous wrecks until we get some answers!  So you need to get on the phone first thing tomorrow morning and make an appointment to get this checked out.  It may well be nothing ... but you need to know so that you can either deal with whatever it is or be able to quit worrying about it. 

I well remember trying to get enough courage to make that call for an appointment.  You just have to grab the phone and make yourself do it!  ((((hugs))))

I'm tired of hearing about how we have to protect 'traditional' marriage?  Marriage, as based on Biblical teaching, has not existed in this country for a long, long time ... thankfully!  You know, where a woman is given or sold as property from her father to a husband ... has no rights ... not allowed to take part in anything other than family life ... must submit totally to her husband's authority and obey him unconditionally ... divorce not allowed ...  etc.  Some of the people I hear going on about the 'sanctity' of marriage have been divorced and remarried several times ... one of them is on marriage #6.  I'm pretty sure the Bible says that if you remarry after divorce you are committing the sin of adultery ... yet nobody seems to be getting all hot and bothered about stopping divorces to protect 'marriage' ... only interested in stopping gay people from getting the same rights they have.

This straight woman thinks maybe we should all do 'civil unions' and those who really want to preserve 'traditional' marriage can go to their church for an additional ceremony to put themselves under the old, traditional roles and rules. Somehow I don't think they would have too many take them up on that.  Just getting tired of folks picking and choosing what religious stuff to ignore and what to try to force on others ... based on no more than what works for them. 

Can't make up my mind about the bailout for the auto companies.  I did hear that it was to come out of the original $700 billion package so might be better than just giving more to the banks ... who are using it to buy other banks and give themselves bonus payments   I guess the question is if it will really save jobs in this country ... or are we just saving management and factory jobs in Mexico?

Did it never occur to all these companies that moving their manufactoring jobs to Mexico, etc. might not be a sustainable idea.  Too many well paying jobs gone = people don't have the money to buy their stuff.  No customers ... no sales ... no profits to worry about paying 'lower' taxes on.   

Wonder when Obama will start announcing his cabinet selections?  Lots of media speculation but I think they are just making wild guesses to fill air time.  Glad that we will finally get the 'foxes out of the hen houses' and get some people in the EPA, FDA, Labor Department, etc. who will do what they are supposed to instead of just carrying water for the corporations they are supposed to be watching!  

Tired of seeing Palin everywhere but it's kind of like driving past a wreck ... you just gotta look and see exactly how bad it is this time  

I just heard one of those 'little things' yesterday that made me realize that there is much more to this election than I, as a white woman, can ever really understand.  My daughter's best friend's husband is black ... they took in a stray cat this week and he wants to name it America because he is so pumped about Obama being President!  Then you see people like Oprah and Will Smith ... who are very successful and respected ... crying tears of joy.  I wanted Obama to win because I believe he is the best man to get us out of the mess we are in but the emotional and symbolic aspect to this is much greater than I had ever imagined it would be ... and that is a very good thing!  

The Republicans are simply afraid that Obama will treat them like Bush treated the Democrats.  He came in with a squeaker that he won only through the Supreme Court and acted like he had a mandate ... bipartisan meant agree with whatever we say or we're going to do it anyway ... for the first 6 years that is how they operated.  Obama has come in with a real mandate and also has the Congress and they think he will do the same to them.   Then there is the fear factor ... they have been told to be very afraid of this socialist, communist, marxist, terrorist, Muslim,  etc. etc. etc. who is coming to take away all their money, and guns and whatever else they can think of     It's hard for me to imagine that people believe all this crap but many do and as much as we like to think otherwise people do respond all too much to fear and hate and greed.    

I'm very happy with his choice for COS ... seems the guy is a very rough and tumble, ready for a good fight type who can not be expected to put up with a lot of crap from anybody.  Yeah ... the worry in my household was that Obama was too much of an idealist and would be treated like Jimmy Carter was ... walked all over by everybody.  It seems that he does know how to pay hardball and I see that as a very good thing.  The opposition will try to destroy him ... so bring on the 'thug' if needed as far as I'm concerned.  

WOW ... isn't it a beautiful day today ... the world looks better to me already!  I have hope again that we will be able to climb out of the hole the last 8 years have put us in.  Best thing of all is that the margin of victory was so big that we don't have to relive the horror of recounts, etc. again. Even Indiana went blue.    

I've enjoyed all the 'conversations' here - thanks for the thread Amy.  I've still got all fingers and toes crossed that Prop 8 will go your way too! 

Now I have to go take care of my project for the day ... give my white furball cat a bath.  If you never hear from me again you will know what happened.

Peeked in at Obama's speech Wednesday night and was very impressed.  He has run an excellently planned, organized and executed campaign ... that's the kind of competence I want in my President!

Hi junie ... love your song!  You might try checking the website for your local paper for voting place information.  I know on ours you can type in your address and get the information. 

The lack of knowledge McCain has shown on numerous issues really doesn't surprise me.  He wants to use the experience factor in his benefit but I think the truth is that he has been in a totally safe Senate seat for over 20 years and he has gotten reelected with minimal effort on his part because he is the incumbent and has money and connections.  This campaign demands more and he can't do it ... so we get lots of 'blah, blah, blah' and attacks on the other guy.
