Tissue Expanders ---5/28---

Hi everyone, I had bilateral tiddsue expanders put in 5/28. I had almost 325 cc put in at time of surgery, I think that was alot, after listening to most of you gals out there. I am in constant pain, feelings of extreme tightness, and pain all across. Overall my PS sayd my incisions look great, and that waiting a month or so for a fill is no big deal. Has anybodyelse had this tight feeling after expanders were placed in? My PS says this is all normal......I just would like to know that other women felt what I am feeling. I am on percocet, and its ok, I cant say it takes away the pain fully......does ice help? Or is this just a process I have to endure till my implant exchange? Any words of wisdom I would greatly appreciate......

Colleen 28 y/o F Stage II IBC. -lymph nodes.....Thanks so much everyone!

HEART FAILURE-HERCEPTIN

Thanks for all your comments....My LVF went from 72% to 33%. I was having symptoms for a couple of months until they finally agreed to do a muga. My oncologist thinks this is reversible, and i will continue the herceptin, i am not so sure, but we shall see. It is a big waiting game for me now......I di however know these cardiac meds are helping alot with my pulse/BP, but i am pretty sick from all the meds....:)

Diagnosed at 23

Hi there, I am glad to hear there are people I can relate to....I am a 27 year old who was diagnosed in july 07 with stage II IDC, -nodes, and I am currently on herceptin. I have developed congestive heart failure unfort from the treatment, so my reconstructive surgery has been delayed, very depressing. I would love to chat with someone off this forum, my email is hotmedic14@yahoo.com

HEART FAILURE-HERCEPTIN

Hi everyone..... I have completed AC/and weekly taxol/herceptin on February 14 08. I got my first big dose of herceptin, and now I am in heart failure. I may not be able to get my herceptin because my LVF went down almost 40%! I am dizzy, have highblood pressure, high pulse, sweat profusely, and very miserable with all this extra fluid. My oncologist put me on a beta-blocker, and a BP medicine, which of course make me get sick all day.....I hate this, you take one med, and it causes another side effect. I am depressed because I am only 28 years old, and it seems hopeless sometimes. Because of the heart condition I have to go see a cardiologist, stop herceptin for now, and worse of all cancel my reconstructive surgery. I am trying to stay postive, its so hard to handle all this stress. Has anyone gone into heart failure besides me? My oncologist says its more common in the younger population...Please help me feel better...:) Thanks everyone for your help.....

Theresa, you have a beautiful story, I think we all as sisters need to remember that although we may have cancer, cancer does not have us. This is one thing I am personally having a  hard time with and coping. It is is hard when to feel upbeat when your having a diffulcult time with the chemo......You have a beautiful family, I am a nurse by profession too, I found my lump by myself, thank GOD. I am only 28, and feel so blessed to have had the knowledge I did, I too practice what I have learned, and hopefully can save another sisters life!

Ulla,

I am sorry that you are feeling down, I have been feeling extremely down myself, I dont know how I get through the days sometimes, I just sit and look at how pretty I use to be, just like you, but there is a end to this nightmare, we can do this!

On a second note, I am having extreme weakness/pain in my arms, with almost like a tremor in my hands, is this normal to have during taxol treatments? My counts are normal.....Well as of 5 days ago my Hgb was 11.1 I have had this tremor though for quite a while, I am so scared this is permament, but I am thinking that the chemo has affected my nervous system, any input from anybody would be great! Thanks my sisters, God Bless all of you.......Hotmedic

October 2007 Chemo Girls

Hi guys....I am on weekly taxol, and very nauseated it seems, I havent really gotten sick untill I started this taxol regimen weekly......I am also extremely fatigued, I went to the store, and had to sit after 40 minutes, I was sweating like a pig, and dizzy. Everytime I go out to the stores, or walk around for a while I get these symptoms.....COuld it be because I am technically in "menopause" because of the chemo? I am so scared I wont be able to go back to work, I hope this is temporary.......
