Be careful of those facialsI have a mild case of LE & have facials often. I have never had a problem. I actually thought my arm looked smaller later on. I'll have to ask my dr about this |

Robin RobertsI was hoping she would be back today so I could see how she made out. I was stage 1 & had chemo. They said it was due to the size of the lump. I had 4 treatments & then rads. She did say before that she was going to lose her hair so I figured she was having chemo. |

confused...I went to pt for 3 weeks. They did do the wrapping but I left it on till the next morning when I took a shower & then 2 hrs later I went back to pt. The did do the abdomen thing pressing certain points. She did massage my arm but it was also my hip, back & underarms. She said those were places where the fluid would travel since I had lymph nodes taken out. After 3 weeks my arms were the same size & I was fitted for a sleeve. Did she give you exercises? I do try to do them & she did say I had a mild case.

Wrist & top of hand swelling, shoulder pain?mine was only in the back of my hand & wrist. My onco knew right away that it was le.Since the massages I havent had a problem. We think it was because I was doing arm exercises with 5 pound weights.

ANY OPINIONS ON THIS PUMP?tell us how it works. It looks interesting.I did ask my physical therapy lady about it today. She said most drs dont care for it because when you take off the sleeve the top off your arm can get hard from the fluid not moving. She said she has recommended them to some people like you that dont want to wrap. She said they are coming out with a new sleeve that works better.Too bad your insurance wont pay for it

What do you want nurses to know about lymphedema?I must be lucky. I just say use my right arm please & they dont even ask why.Because of chemo my veins are really bad in my right arm so I also ask them to take blood from the vein in the back of my hand.
