New Kind Of Pain Relief!

I had it 2 times and neither time it helped me.  I wish it had and I am jealous of those that it helps.  I think it is a great invention for those it works on.

Right Foob is red

Hey guys.  I have been doing ok.  I spent 5 days in the hospital and went home with 5 more days of home IV care.  So far no fevers or signs of infection.  Did end up with a roaring yeast infection and C.diff colitis with ulcers.  So I am on meds for that.  I saw my gyn onc and they are scheduling an ooph in August. My DCIS was highly ER/PR+ and my right ovary currently is enlarged.  They want to get them out sooner rather than later.  I am pushing the swap out of implants until November.  I just want my foobs to heal more.

Thanks everyone for the well wishes.  It has been a rotten 3 months that is for sure.

I ended up back in the hospital a week ago with a fever of 104.7.  They switched my antibiotics around and I was able to go home after 5 days with home IV therapy.  So far so good.  No fever and the breast is looking good.  Thanks for all of the well wishes.  Implant is still in and plans are still to swap it out end of August.

Calcifications

I am in the same area as you and do not know that Dr.  My surgeon that did my mastectomy was Bowers.  Best wishes for you!

New update:

Just noticed a 1 in by 1 in blister on the underside of my breast.  I called my PS and she is going to see me tomorrow.  It MAY be just an area that was rubbed a bit and caused a blister or it may be my implant trying to come out.  She said if it pops tonight and the skin looks pink uner than it is probably just a blister.  I did not ask what it will look like if it is my implant....  Tomorrow may be the defining day.  I am almost sick to my stomach thinking that I am going to loose this implant and will not be able to replace it for 6 months :(

I am in a holding pattern.  It looks better than originally but worse than a few days ago.  I see the infection contril specialist Wed and he may want to add in a new medicine.  Hopefully that and not suggest implant removal.

I go today at 1 to see the PS.  Hopefully they will be happy.  I finally stopped draining and the hole looks semi closed but now my breast is swollen.  Who knows.

Right Foob is red

The Dr put me in the hospital on Thur and they put in a PICC line.  I was given 3 doses of vancomyacin and by Friday morning the redness had improved.  An area of my incision opened and it is draining large amounts of fluid.  On Thursday she was pretty sure they were going to loose the implant and by the looks of my breast she was only going to give the IV therapy until Monday.  Yesterday she said she was optimistic I may keep my implant due to how it was looking.  I am home and getting home health IV therapy 2 times a day for 10 days since it is working.  I have to dress my breast 3 times a day (actually it has been more like every 2 hours due to the amount of drainage).  I go to the DR on Monday and they will decide then if they need to change anything.  The IDC DR did a swab of the wound but the results have not come back yet.  He is thinking it is staph.  They won't get that information until today or tomorrow.

I am hoping we don't come to that.  I don't even want to go there mentally as getting to this point was a road full of issues.  I just want even let my brain go to removal.  This will work.  It has too.

I am home tonight but it looks like I will be going back in tomorrow for IV antibiotics.  If that does not work I loose the implant. She added Cipro as a last ditch effort.  I am very down.

Today it looks worse.  The pain down my arm is now also up into my neck.  I have been eating yogurt along with the antibiotics.  I go in today at 1.  I hope that they can find a way to bypass the IV antibiotics.

Kathy I just took my 3rd dose and so far no change.  I was feeling really icky last night and did have a fever (101).  I loaded up on pain pills and added some advil.  I do not feel feverish this morning.  I told them last week I had been running a low grade off and on and she said post surgery that is somewhat normal in the first few days.

Thanks everyone.

I hope this is just a small local infection and it clears.  What is the chance of it clearing?

I do have some pain on that side and I have been having pain in my armpit and down that arm.  My breast is very streaky looking.  This came up pretty quick.  I hope the keflex works.  I had just went off it last week.

Erin I am worried about that.  My son graduates Sun and nothing will keep me from that.

It will be 2 weeks since my implant surgery on Thur.  My right FOOB is red/pink.  I called my PS and she called in some Keflex (high dosage) and will see me for my follow up Wed.  She said if it is still red she may admit me for a PIC line and follow-up IV antibiotics at home.  WTH?

Surgery in May?

Hamburger buns describes it pretty well.  I have moderate plus implants but only 350cc.  I am swapping for high profiles 500.  The diameter of that will be the same as my moderate plus with a lot more projection.  I am so hard still.

Surgery in May?

Oh and the PS says no sitting in the sun for a month and no swimming for a month.  The no sun is due to swelling.  Heat brings on swelling.  The no swimming is due to a risk of infection.
