My oncologist didn't give me taxol as I had no lymph node involvement. I know it is a little different with each person. I sent you a PM as well.

Take care.

Newly diagnosed triple neg

Hi Boater Girl,

I was diag. triple neg at 40 yrs. old 1.5cm tumor - trip neg. Had lumpectomy, 4 DD AC and rads. I am 3-1/2 years out Tongue out Things do get better with time. I worked every day through the chemo. The losing of hair was hard, but I slapped on the wig and lived my life. You will get back to a "new normal" in time. I have noted a website below with some good news about triple negative. Click on the triple negative icon once you get to the site. I felt encouraged - the longer we stay cancer-free the better off we are. I hope this brings you some comfort and hope. Let me know if you need anything.

Digital Mammogram & MRI

Hi Everyone,

I am 3yrs out this last July '05, 1.5cm, triple negative no node involvement. I did dose dense AC and 33 rads. I just recently had my yearly visit with my radiation oncologist and she suggested digital mammography and and MRI in both breasts since I am cystic and have dense breasts. I am not due for my next mammogram until March 2009. The last mammogram I had in April promopted 2 biopsies in the "good" breast that were benign. I'm not sure I want to set myself up for more biopsies this coming March 2009 by adding the MRI. I know the digital mammography is very good for us dense breast girls and I get my results right away. I know my radiation oncologist is just looking out for my well being. However, my regular oncologist would be okay with just the digital mammogram. Anyway not sure what to do in March - I don't want to go through any more biopsies - they suck. Thanks for letting me vent.

By the way don't think I am not grateful to have passed the 3-year mark - I AM! My daughter just started her first year of college (I miss her) and my son is a freshman in high school. I am 44 years old, work in marketing (love my job) and have been married to a sweet man for 26 years - I know I am blessed.

God bless all of us.

Good 3 Neg story

Hi Everyone!

Well it will be 3 years for me in July 2008 and I am NED. We are celebrating my daughter's high school graduation and my son's 8th grade graduation this weekend. I remember when I was diagnosed and didn't know my prognosis I just asked God to let me see my daughter graduate high school and I did! Plus I am continuing on with LIFE and it feels wonderful! No more tests until April of 2009!

Best of luck/wishes to all of us out there.

Imagine life and then live it!!!!

A Little Scared But Hanging In

Hi Everyone,

Good news, both biopsies were benign (negative). What a relief. They did both sides, so now I don't have to go for another mammogram for one year! My original diagnosis was in July 2005 so we are considering this passing my 3 year mark! One year of freedom from tests - I am going out with my 17 year old daughter tomorrow for a celebration. Whoo-hoo!!!!Thanks to everyone for their hugs, prayers and support.

A Little Scared But Hanging In

Hi All,

Well there are 2 spots they want to biopsy - 1 they said is most likely a cyst. The other they are unsure so they will take some tissue and send for pathology. All of this is happening on Monday. I am staying as strong as I can and hopefully will have good news (BENIGN) next week. Thanks for all your hugs, prayers and support. Please keep it coming until I come out the other side sometime next week.

A Little Scared But Hanging In

Hi Everyone,

I have only posted on these boards a few times with encouraging words. I was dx in 7/05, stage 1 with AC and rads treatment. I am down to yearly mammogram (or that was the plan). I went to my regular doctor yesterday for a 6mo. f/u and damn if she didn't find a lump in the other breast. Now I go for a mammo w/ ultrasound this afternoon. It will probably turn out fine, but my mind has gone back to that dark place. Please say prayers for me and thanks.

can't seem to 'move on'

Hi Everyone,

It took me a full year to feel better after diagnosis in 7/05. During the year I just sucked it up with work, kids, family etc..Then the summer of 2006 I finally gave myself permission to deal with it and I did feel better. I am 2-1/2 yrs. out now and am looking forward to this summer. It is cold here in Chicago and I'm sick of it! My next mammogram is in Sept. '08 when I will be officially 3 yrs. out which is a great thing for us triple negs. It is hard to not feel sad about bc but after about a year it seemed to get better.

Triple Negative Survival Information Update

Hi Everyone,

Have you seen the information noted in the web-link below? It talks about the survival rates for triple negative and how they have been misinterpreted and are actually very good! I thought everyone might find it interesting reading.

I am a 2-1/2 year survivor. After reading this I am looking forward to reaching the 3 year mark!!!

Thanks.

Triple negative beyond 2 years- What was your treatment?

I am 2-1/2 years out and had a lumpectomy, 4 dose dense AC & rads. So far so good! Stage 1 with no nodes, 1.5cm.

Triple Neg Survivor

Hi Everyone,

I am a two year trip neg survivor and things do get better with the more time that passes! I can go a whole day without thinking about it and when I do I am able to push it out.

There are a lot of us triple neg survivors out there - sometimes I think this disease is harder to deal with from the mental standpoint than the physical.

What a special group of people we are - best to everyone!!

2 year survivor!!

Hi Everyone,

I have only posted on the board a few times in the past. Once was to give some encouragement to someone that had just been diagnosed.

I wanted to share some GOOD news today. I just went in for my 2 year post diagnosis mammogram and all is clear. I was so scared right before I went in and then so happy when they gave me the good news! I don't have to go back for a year now (vs. previously every six months).

I try and live every day to the fullest - this thing has really changed my life - both bad and good. I try and focus on the good and shove away the bad.

My very best wishes for all of us out there. We truly are an amazing group of people!!
