Getting a Tram Flap on 11/26/08....As some of you already know, I had expanders originally put in at the same time of mastectomy. Then august 07, I had the exchange done w/the gel implants put in. This past July (2008) I had to have a different size implant put in as my skin was stretched too much, had alot of rippling. Anyway, then in September is when the fun started'; my right implant, at the incision, opened up on me. I had to get it restitched, all was fine afterwards. Then my left implant (which was the cancer side), same thing happened, then infection set in. I then had an emerg surgery which my implant was removed (under local anesthesia). That was out for 3 weeks, then a month ago, I had the implant put back in. Well ladies, as I had a feeling, it didnt take as my skin is so very thin from radiation, etc and tissue is damaged. NOW, next week I am having a tram with the skin taken from the abdomen. Does anyone know about the duration of this surgery, recovery, etc? Thanks! Silicone vs. Saline implantsI had expanders in before my exchange surgery last August. I have the Mentor Silicone Gel implants in. I love them...very natural looking. Ask your ps about them. I have the high profile round. The saline are definitely more hard compared to the silicone gel. Celene Dx DCIS, 1cm, Stage I, Grade 2, 1/7 nodes, ER+/PR+, HER2- |

Reconstruction Problems....I was wondering if anyone has gone through what I'm dealin with right now. I have the memory gel implants in. They were just replaced with a little bit bigger ones in June of this year due to alot of rippling that I was having. Anyway, not even 5 weeks later, my incision on the right breast (on the side) reopened up. I went to the dr yesterday, he told me that he is going to try to stitch it and hopefully there wont be an infection to follow, as my implant was exposed. If it DOES NOT work, then he will have to remove the implant, give me a drainage tube for about a week...........AND...worse part is that they wont be able to replace it for one month because it needs time to heal. I hope this does NOT happen and that I am okay with the stitching and antibiotics because this will feel as if I'm going through a damn masectomy all over again. So please, if anyone has gone through this, let me know what the outcome was of this. Hugs Celene Dx DCIS, 1cm, Stage I, Grade 2, 1/7 nodes, ER+/PR+, HER2- |

2 complex cysts, N3 and N1 Lesions?Hello. No one knows for sure until you have the "official" biopsy whether or not something is definitely cancerous but in the meantime, to stay ahead of the game, I would check into your state Medicaid office OR go to Susan G. Komen foundation and they will be able to send you in the right direction . They will be able to tell you who is an affilliate and if you START from the beginning with them and go to who they suggest, I believe (from what I can remember when I called), they will be able to assist you with what will be needed. email them (in montana at): Please let me know how you make out! Hugs and good luck! Celene Dx DCIS, 1cm, Stage I, Grade 2, 1/7 nodes, ER+/PR+, HER2- |

A Beautiful day for LauraPeggy, I just logged on to see the comment you had made. I'm not mad at you. Trust me, I was "upset enough" that I couldn't go to and I did want to be there. However, I just started a job in which I could not get out due to clients being here and I was the ONLY one here and I was responsible to be here for them, since my both of my bosses were out of town. If not, then I would have been there. I also can NOT afford to lose my job at this time due to my health insurance. I can understand if you want to be upset with me, especially for living so close but unfortunately, there wasnt anything that I could do. Again, I'm sorry. Celene |

Update On CTGI am so glad to hear that ctg was in good spirits. My thoughts and prayers are with her. I tried to call her the day that you went over to see her but her sister was helping her w/her shower. I wish that I could have been online w/everyone last night but unfortunately, I wasn't able to. Ctg is an absolutely amazing woman who has touched many lives and will continue to do so. I still believe, hope and remember, MIRACLES do happen! Hugs and love...Celene |
