Scared to deathI looked up both Adenofibroma and Fibroadenoma: Here is what I found: Adenofibroma: 1. A benign neoplasm composed of glandular and fibrous tissues, with a relatively large proportion of the gland. 2. Dense, fibrous connective tissue with interspered glandular space. Fibroadenoma:1. Findings that can be seen on a mammogram. 2. They are benign breast tumors that are made glandular and fibrous breast tissue. 3. Is a smooth rubbery hard lump that moves with in the breast tissues. I hope this helps! Dx 7/19/2004, IBC, Stage IIIb, 9/17 nodes, ER-/PR+, HER2- |

reconstructionJessica: My opinion is that reconstruction is safe. I was dx with IBC in July of 04 when I finished chemo in December 04. In January of 05 I had both my mastectomy and reconstruction done at the same time. Followed by another 3 1/2 months of chemo and 7 weeks of rads. I have been NED for 3 years. Officially diagnosed with IBCJadai: I would get a second opinion I do not know where you live but it would be worth a try to check out MD Anderson or U of M they both and doing research on IBC. Your mom may qualify for a clinical trial. Keeping you and your mom in my prays. Hugs Laura Dx 7/19/2004, IBC, Stage IIIb, 9/17 nodes, ER-/PR+, HER2- |

rash on breast for over 2 monthsAngela80: I would go to a breast surgeon because the only way that IBC can be diagnosed is by a skin biopsy. One of the 1st questions I would ask whom ever you decide to see if they are familiar with IBC. Hugs Laura Dx 7/19/2004, IBC, Stage IIIb, 9/17 nodes, ER-/PR+, HER2- |

Officially diagnosed with IBCJadai: Yes I did meet with the oncologist and went over a treatment plan. He told me what kind of chemo and how long I would be in treatment. I had 4 very large tx of A/C which took 8 weeks to complete followed by 12 weeks of Taxol. You may want to ask the doctor about giving your mom some steroid prior to her treatment. My onc started the steroids after how sick I was after my first treatment and the rest of my chemo treatment was a breeze. Having frozen meals for her would be very helpful for when she is by herself. The big thing is to make sure she drinks plenty of water or decaffeinated drink so that she does not get dehydrated. I also craved something very cold so I always stopped on my way home and pick up some frozen drinks. I would suggest that you stay with your mom after her first treatment just in case she does get sick. Another suggestion is for her to eat non-spicy or greasy foods for a few days after treatment. Need everyones opinon!Bailey1: My opinion is yes you should request a biopy. I know that my mammogram ect.. all came back negative. From all that I have read about IBC the only true way that they can dx this through a skin biopsy. Laura Dx 7/19/2004, IBC, Stage IIIb, 9/17 nodes, ER-/PR+, HER2- |

help in canadaprestressed: I have never heard of MRI resutls taking two weeks the normal turn around time is at the most 5 days. Since I only have MRI's done now my onc and pc get my results in about 3 days. Keeping my fingers crossed that you get your results sooner. Mastecomy & ReconstructionDorothy: I had my tram flap done at the same time as my mastectomy on my left side. For one breast the total surgery time was 8 hours and I was in the hospital for about 5 days. A year later I had a right mastectomy done since I could not have a tram flap again I have a silicone implant this surgery was much shorter I am not sure how long I was under since I also had a complete hysterectomy done at the same time. I hope this helps. Hugs Laura Dx 7/19/2004, IBC, Stage IIIb, 9/17 nodes, ER-/PR+, HER2- |
