Hot Flashes!!!!!!!

Ask your Dr. about Effexor.  It's helped me a great deal.

deformation after biopsy

I had a lumpectomy too. My breast doesn't look the same either, and the nipple tips upward, but it's OK..... The tumor is gone and I'm alive.  That's what matters to me.

Opinions needed, please

The mammogram didn't pick up the thickening I had either, until a year later.  It turned out to be ILC.  Stage I.  Thank God it had NOT spread!!!   I too have heard tumors can be slow growing from 7 to 10 years before they show up.... THAT'S SCARY!

All the best to you!

ovary removal/suppression-please help

From the research I've gathered, they don't like to remove a woman's ovaries until her mid 40's.  By this age; our bodies are supposedly producing less estrogen naturally.  It's a known fact estrogen plays a big role in keeping our body and mind functioning properly.

Estrogen it's a double edge sword......

I was dx at 43.  I'm now 45.    I had a lumpectomy, the tumor was ER/PR + ,  had 4 rounds of chemo (A/C) and 33.5 radiation treatments.  I took Tamoxifen from June to Oct. when I had my ovaries removed.  It was an extremely difficult decision to make. It was done laproscopic and I took a week off from work to rest. I was better in 2 days, by the 3rd day I was able to get around really well. Since b/c runs in my family I felt I HAD to do as much as possible to prevent any re-occurance.  I'm on Aromasin; and it's disablingly torture for me.   I'm considering opting out at this point.  I have an appt. with my Onc. 8/29 to discuss this matter.  Another b/c survivor sister is using DIM.  http://www.activamune.com/?gclid=COeCkvijkpUCFQ60HgodLiJ4fg I'm considering giving it a shot as well.

Best of luck in your decision.

Stage 1-Should I worry about recurrence???

I've taken Aromasin since last Oct. My tumor was 1.5 cm and by the Grace of God, it had NOT spread.   The side effects for me have increased dramatically over the months including CTS.  I want to do everything possible to prevent the cancer from returning, however; this stuff is disabling me.  I see my Onc. 8/29.  Arimidex is next but it is only going to have the same s/e if not more so.  Something has got to give here.......  and yes, we will always worry.

AI's and tendonitis

Bi-lateral CTS should be listed as a side effect of Aromasin as well.  Also joint pain needs to be described in more detail, along with swelling of fingers/hands and can have an almost "crippling" effect.

AI's HURT LIKE A MUG!!!

Slight numbness in toes and feet

Numbness and tingling - hands and feet are affected, yep, I'm experiencing the same thing with Aromasin.

IT'S THE MEDS (not old age) and it's frickin' miserable and I don't know if I can continue like this........

Anyone switched from tamox to A1?

I'd rather have a period any day than to take A. I.'s

Neuropathy

From what I'm experiencing I think mine (if that's what it is) is caused by the,  A.I. - Aromasin.  I'm seeing my Onc. on 8/29.  This stuff is torture on the body!!!

Has anyone done well on aromasin?

I *thought* I was doing ok on it up until this past May.  Now days, my hands, fingers, feet, toes, ankles and knees ache!  I've recently learned my CTS most likely is caused by  Aromasin.  And here I've been seeing an Orthopedic!   I don't like this... and, I've lost my flexibility! UGH!   This stuff is almost "crippling" me!

AI's and tendonitis

I too have am having trouble with CTS!!!! My hands feel swollen and ache.   Trouble with my feet, toes, knees and ankles as well.  I called the Dr. last week and the nurse told me to stop taking the Aromasin for about a week to ten days to see if my symptons improve.  Well, they have!  So, I now have to schedule to see the Dr. as to what do I do now......  UGH!!!!!!
