ONCOTYPE DX OUT OF NETWORK??I have Tricare Prime and they did not pay for any of my oncotype charges. I made my decision not to have chemo based on this test and therefore saved them alot of money. They would not take this into consideration. |

IDCMy friend was diagnosed with IDC with postive sentinal node involvement, stage 2, grade 1. She had a partial mastectomy with dissection of three nodes, one of which is positive for carcinoma. Her onc strongly suggests chemo and radiation. Can anyone give advice for her? |

Thank you!!I am so grateful for this site. Here's my story. I was diagnosed with IDC in February. My ONC recommended IV Chemo, Radiation and Oral chemo for five years. I wanted to refuse the IV chemo. I got on this site with the info I had and was told from one of you that I need to get my grade and my Ocotype before I made a decision. I did that and my Ocotype came back at 9. My onc changed his mind and said I didn't need IV chemo. I got a second consult and he also said that Chemo was not recommended for an Oncotype of 9, Stage 1, grade 2 with clear margins. So, if it were't for you I would probably be getting IV chemo. Thank you very much. |

Making a good choiceI have IDC Stage 1, ER+ PR+ Her2-I have had a lumpectomy. My Onc offered IV Chemo (Docetaxel, Cyclophosphamide) Radiation and Anastrozole ( 5 years). I am considering refusing the IV chemo and just having radiation and taking the Anastrozole. I will follow up with frequent visits, mamograms etc. Does this seem like a good choice? |

IDCI was diagnosed with IDC on Jan 30. I chose a surgeon who was not in my insurance plan so I had to go with his partner. I wanted to check her credentials on the internet. When I called the office for her web address the office manage became very defensive and told me that if I was uncomfortable with this surgeon I could go to another surgeon. She told the surgeon who also said I could go to another surgeon if I was uncomfortable. Now I worried that I am going under the knife of a person who may not be happy with me. I can see another surgeon who cannot see me until the 25th. I am afraid to wait that long. I dont' know what to do now! Any advice? |

just diagnosedI am newly diagnosed as of yesterday. I spent most of my day today with the surgeon. I am trying to decide Mastectomy vs lobectomy. Should I allow a general surgeon to do it or should I go to the Mayo Clinic. I am so confused. My cancer is stage 2. So I will need to do the lymph biopsy. |
