How long have you been on ZoladexI've been having Zoladex injections for almost 21/2 years. I had mucinous carcinoma (rare not aggressive) but it showed up in my armpit 2 more times. Very high ER/PR +. I've been almost 3years finally without a recurrence. I want to stop the Zoladex to see if I am in menopause. I just turned 50 this year. Hard to believe this all started when I was 44. Has anyone been on Zoladex and stopped to find that they are permanently in menopause. If I am doc says I can stop the injections. If not I might opt for an oopherectomy. Paula |

Need a break from ZoladexHi All, It's been a long while since I've been here. In August of 2002 I was diagnosed with Mucinous Carcinoma (stage 1) One of the least invasive breast cancers. Lumpectomy & radiation. Very high PR/ER pos. No other treatment. March of 2004 same cancer in lymph node of armpit. Removal and radiation then tamoxifen. December 2005 (after just adopting our beautiful little girl from Siberia) another lymph node same armpit. Surgery, radiation and zoladex. It's now been over two and a half years and I think I have finally turned a corner at least with my cancer. I am struggling with taking a break from the zoladex. I'm tired all the time, my joints ache, my memory has definitely taken a hit and I need to comfort. I am under great stress due to the diagnosis of my husbands grade 4 glioblastoma (in Marh of 2007). He is now fighting a recurrence and our world is hard. Has anyone taken a break from this drug. When I first started it onc said do it for 2 years. I've surpassed that and now he wants me to stay on until I might be in natural menopause. I turned 50 this year. Lucky me. Any help out there. Paula |
