What is GOING ON around here????

Maybe I am talking too early or doing something wrong
or this is covered already but still is not working
at least for me.

A very useful info that it was in the previous format
at least I think we should have or keep on having
was the location;
under our ID = Avatar beside each message we post .
We used to have location under this

To most may not make much difference,
but for someone like me or anyone that live out borders
of any country that has English as a main language,
it helps a lot...
mainly as too language and way of expressing.
If I say something wrong
or do not use better terms to express myself...
any other user can figure quickly why is that,
may not have a thing to do with chemobrain
but the fact that English is not her/his main language...
Being Portuguese can explain a lot of things,
and on others works great as an excuse too. LOL Tongue out

What is GOING ON around here????

Only log in today.
It's different and a bit early
to say something about it.

One thing that I find useful already
is the user profile the "Diagnosis"
that we have on "My home"
one can make it private or public,
find it useful when we are dealing
with info and trading info.
The rest so far has the same features
and others that at least I did not checked yet.

Avatar is working... at least in my profile...

Let's see if emoticons work? Smile
now if emoticons from somewhere else are working ...

Good to see this place ON again.

Hate too, to deal with interface changes but...

sometimes it has to be.

Hugs.

Need advice on dating issues

The only thing I can say is
don't stress with what has not happening already
neither is about to happen now.
Breathe in, breathe out and go with the flow,
you haven't met them in person yet... so...
Yes, we understand what can come to mind but,
each thing at its time; like others said,
I'm sure when time is right for you, you will know it
whether if that will be tomorrow, or in days, or months...
then is not an obligation that you open all "your book"
if you're just starting to met people ...
everyone has "secrets"
and some certainly are not to be shared with people
that we do not know or do not feel comfortable with.

Best of luck!!!

What does your hubby think of you now?

Wendy;
I'm really glad you decided
to go proactive on this
talking in here and
now seeking help with counseling.
Even if you go alone to counseling,
I'm sure it will help you a lot.

Wishing you the best.
Hugs.

Unexpected side/after-effect of radiation

Makes sense then.
I had those symptoms on my throat but
not so annoying as you describe,
they came months after Rads.,
but by then,
what bothered me most was the neck muscle
that would have a thing around
tingling, pulling and pricking
at times that would go up to my right ear;
Rads Doc. said it was rads effects
and it would go away, as to the throat feeling
she mentioned it's not very common to happen, but it happens.
After months can not be precise how long was that,
all disappeared.

But having scar tissue such as that,
that can be id so easily ... have no idea,
neither ever heard how that can be managed.
In the end, is always good just to know what is going on.

What does your hubby think of you now?

Joan is right, as Marilyn...
guess wisdom and good sense as to certain things
guess it comes with age, no?...
Sorry, but I didn't get there yet ... LOL
Lot of latin blood boiling in here,
I will tell him I'm sorry for my words
when the jerk gets home with a bunch of flowers,
says how much he loves you
and confess how such a jerk he has been
and is indeed willing to mend himself.
Until then he is a... how do you say it?
Dick... head?? Sounds acceptable at this point,
lucky him that English words are too soft,
to bad he doesn't understand Portuguese...
Oooh mmmm... you can send him here,
yes, vacations, why not?
I know a group of guys that could teach him
some couple of things and at the end of the day,
I can bet that the last thing he would do
would be to waste metal energy on figuring out
what men think about things such pigs and as sex.

Just trying to make you smile.
Hope things are better today.

Feet!!!

I'm on Tamoxifen and
had that severely on my feet last year,
started on my feet and then came up my legs,
and around this time by then I went for
some couple of texts to see what was going on.
Nothing out of what could be expected, arthritis,
the thing got in a way that I could not stand up
in the morning.
The odd thing was that,
I been on sports long years back
and along the time was always very active
so in any point of my life this shown before,
I had detailed XR's that shown that suddenly
I have flat feet, yep, apparently chemo
messed with the joins in there to this point.

Those exercises mentioned by lam,
in the morning and now and then do help a lot,
plus as soon as I started some supplements
and things like magnesium
and vitamin D's it was a HUGE change.
A good shoe with a very good feet support
made a difference too.
Just for you to get the idea of how one can
recover back, last year around this month
I was holding myself on the walls some parts of the day
to manage to do things like
going to the kitchen, or get up from my desk,
I'm 39 and at certain parts of the day
I was feeling as if 93...
this year around January
I went back to my favorite thing mountain hiking,
and by now one year latter, I already lost the count
of how many miles I hiked so far
with not much problems then
what can be the normal, tired in the end.
I'm not saying that it is gone completely, there's days,
and after the kick we had with chemo,
plus then being on Tamox or AI's or of the kind,
guess it's asking too much
for things to get back being 100%,
but it can get FAR BETTER.

Hope that improves soon.

What does your hubby think of you now?

Apart from the jerkness level,
you are dealing with a guy that simply
is not, neither has what it takes,
neither knows how to be at your level of needs;
this all you been hearing from him,
it's not about you, it's about him.
While before during dx. and treatment
he could even run and hide,
now ... he can't, so stupidity takes place;
you can not expect him to see your needs
coz he is not even seeing his own needs!! geezzz...
I'll resume this to one thing
coz it's my believe that it's this his problem and fear,
hope you do not get offended, if so I'm sorry,
but I can bet you will understand
what I'm trying to say,
and you can tell him this, that
if he doesn't know how to deal and live with one boob only,
certainly he never knew how to deal with two!!!

Oh Lord I need to break something!!!!

Is there any chance you both can get counseling?
This is too much work and emotionally exhausting
to be done alone and only by you.

Hugs.

Something Peculiar:

Sorry,
just taking the chance of droping some words to Binney.
Binney, the work you been doing in here been long,
as to LE risk and info and such,
though sometimes it doesn't show on the responses
the threads may have, your work and consern
about informing people through here, been outstanding.
Talking for myself and reading you back long back,
since all this started,
was that involvement you had and have,
that made it far easier for me,
I do not have LE,
but am at high risk for some "obvious reasons"
and because of my work, and my work is
not something one can give up from day to night;
If not for the all info you provided along the time
and I would be still looping around on what to do
to manage some couple of very important things
that did made the difference for me.
So, thank you for that!!

Hugs.

Unexpected side/after-effect of radiation

.

If you had the
supraclavicular lymph nodes (neck area) radiated
that can happen, if not ...
Geezz... at least I'm not not seeing
how radiation could have affect your throat.
Then again... so much odd things can happen...

What does your hubby think of you now?

He said to me last night that
"hot" is in the eye of the beholder.
What does that mean???

It means that he needs an eye specialist.
Men!...

Good you both talked about it,
that's already something.
Take care.

Hugs.

Something Peculiar:

Interesting
that I had some comments from sometime back
about my veins around things such as this.
I had a port during chemo and
during an year and half after treatment,
and thought my veins would stay intact;
during a long while after treatment
mainly around the inside of the elbows had that area
as if I had been pricked a lot of times there,
sometimes looking as if an old big bruise.
That was odd since they weren't even used
and it happened in the good and the bad arm just the same,
it took a long while to go away but it did...
After it noticed that started to have more problems
with things like blood work.
NEVER this was a problem before
and after using the port for chemo
never thought this would happen.
My veins though they still look VERY strong
can easily collapse when doing blood work...
To the point that for twice I went for this
and they did not manage.
Doc. said that this can happen
of veins getting with their walls very fragile
after chemo and even using a port during treatment.
Hopefully will get better coz I do not like the idea
of being pricked so many times just to take blood out!!

Hugs.

What does your hubby think of you now?

Wallan we all change after BC
well... as it shows, no?
After what you went through around and about this crap
you probably may not be at your best at the moment
but your husband turned a great jerk!!
What is his excuse?

I can only agree with what everyone said above,
and after you cool down a bit around this
and digest this better,
if you think that you have to do something,
I can only add one thing, if so...
Do it on your terms and do it for yourself
not for him or thinking about him,
you first.

Flirting with an old girlfriend!!!!!!! ...
Nope, that's far beyond the unacceptable;
around here, it was me that went through BC, so
considering the delicate psychological and emotional state
that all this bring on us...
I decided that only me have the right to flirt whomever.
A comment such as that of an hot old girlfriend
and I'm sorry ... but I would have to ask
if he finds himself so sure that he is at the level
and has what it takes for a woman like that.
Sorry but I do not bite easily that thing
of man being with their emotions all upsidedown
during and after BC,
they even may and may even get just as we, but...
one thing is this and
that doesn't involve lack of respect.

Hugs.

for ladies that like to take and post pictures

Valerie;
I'm from Porto and live at Porto.
Second biggest town in the country
up north of Portugal.
For those from US
to locate it better it's easy,
if you see New York,
you turn facing the Ocean
and is just straight ahead.
Ever heard of things like... OPorto Wine?
Same town.
Obviously I could remember any other reference,
but ...
Wine is what comes to mind at the moment.

Oh yes, LOT of guys from UK around here
at this time of the year until around winter comes,
beach, the weather and so on, most come for the quiet.
Your friend choose well the season to come here, May,
good weather at this time, not too hot,
and not much people around on vacations and such,
but it depends on where she's been of course.
Val, keep on dreaming coz one never knows...
if one of this days you pass here,
feel free to give me a call.
I do not have much pics of my town,
well I would if I would remember where I have them ...
Most are on paper anyway.
But through this samples here, guess
you can have a very good idea of how it is.

Hope you enjoy it.

Big Hugs to you too.

Took this pics yesterday while crossing the river.
It was a beautiful day and very, very, very relaxing,
got so distracted ...
that almost forgot why I had to cross the river.

Gsg,
That trip your son is making,
is a once in a life time thing, and not for everyone...
And then ... like we say in here "there's nothing like
to be in the faculty of the university of life",
no other way to learn some kind of things then to live them.
Not quite sure if I explain myself the right way,
this is very bad today, but guess you got the idea ... I think.

Valerie,
Funny visitors you have around your house.

Great pictures, thanks for sharing.
