One chemo down scared still

enjoylife, if you go to symptoms and diagnosis and the top of the page click on and look to the left you will see how they have abrivateted tech words, l hope this will help you, l had to find out myself, anytime you need any help just ask, hope your feeling ok what chemo treatment are you on, there so many different ones dont panic the nurses are so reasurring and do not be frightened to ask, thats what there for, you can well imagine when l go with my notes with questions but there fine l feel it is my body and l want to know what is going on.and l ask for the truth and what to expect which has helped so much, knowing that some of what l have been through is just having side effects, all the best and enjoy the group.

Can anyone share about a needle biopsy?

l bet none of you liked the asprination injection, that really did hurt l think you should have that under a local, l will never forget that pain when doing it and after, mind the doctor did say it was a large area to cover and had  to be sure, makes a core biopsy nothing to worry about.

One chemo down scared still

hello and welcome, sorry you to have  our problem, but when you are on your own it must find it very hard as my husband cannot discuss it, this is where this  group comes in. l am 49 and have DCSI and ILC x 6+ cm and l having FEC X6 Chemo, next one is in june that will be my 5th cycyle what chemo are you having? l had operertion in december to find DCSI and another operation in Feb 08 to find ILC  and had a left masectomy and l have done so much research and asked plenty of questioned, l have a 40% chance of it returning, there as been 5 in my family with this, but l still feel positive because the more you read and talk to you can see cancer research as really come on, l really hope you find this group supportive.and all the best.

bad veins and bruses in arms

hi girls thanks for all your support l did ask for one of the top chemo nurses as l was very scared having it in my bad arm, they also put a warm heated cover around my arm, but l am not happy as l have had to keep creaming my arms with hydrocortisone and kept the better arm coverered with a tight bandage and have  got blisters comming, l pray to god they donot burst, they say they will return hopefully to my good arm in june, in which time my arm would have had a rest ,which is my 5th cycle and  the chemo nurse said it looked painfull but we have to listen to others that are qualified, but if they get any worse l will contact the hospital as they are a very good team, 2 more cycles thank god,

mrkadb, l had needle biopsy when l arrived at hospital they gave me a local an injection they leave you for a few minuites to give it time to numb then they look at the tel screen for the area they have to investigate they all you hear is like a stable clipping every time they picture something it did not hurt she would not give me results l had to wait and see onc which did dx my problems. you may be a little sore later so take pain killers just in case good luck

thank heaven l am not on my own l thought it was be babbling on to much but my husband is reacting the same, visit after vist the same old conversations arise, l keep saying that our family and friends care. he has also said it would be nice to get back to reality (l did not ask for cancer to involve our lives) that shuck him up.

Anyone develop a seroma?

Kimber.l cant believe your surgeon is letting you suffer, last week l had 250mls drained and on friday 300mls drained quite nasty looking but felt better today when l went another 300mls of seroma but it looked a lot better, hopefully mine is slowing down, l was dx in dec 07 with invasive lobular carcinoma grade 2 after having lumpectomy, then l was reffered to another hospital  l had a masectomy in feb 08 to find l had another problem DSCI grade 2, l had a total of 7cm invasive cancer this runs in my family, chemo to my chest wall for 8 months and radiation 5 to 6 weeks. and hormone theropy here we come. l must say l have the most wonderfull cancer group and if you feel uneasy talk to your cancer nurse, l have to wait for 12 to 18 months for my tram flap reconstruction. but that is my reward after all the sleepless nights. speak up and dont be afraid best of luck.
