Swollen Feet - TamoxifenI've been on Tamoxifen since the end of April. By the end of the day, my feet are so puffy and swollen that I have indentations on my feet from my shoes. I try not to eat processed foods so don't feel as if that's causing the problem. I don't seem to suffer from any other side effects, but would welcome any ideas to keep my feet from swelling. I'm a legal secretary so my job is sedentary. |

Cleveland Area Bra and Prosthesis ShopsI'm answering my own question about a great fitter in the Cleveland area. The owner of The Fitting Room located at 1720 Cooper Foster Rd., Lorain, Ohio was fantastic when I went for my fitting on Saturday. The store has a huge selection plus she is a breast cancer survivor so she is very knowledgeable. The suggestion to take several different sweaters/blouses with you to try on is a great one and since they are your clothes, you'll know how you want the finished product to look. By trying on the bra and prosthesis with your tops, you can see a huge difference so it's worth carting your clothes with you. Judy has Saturday hours, plus is open at least one evening. She also completes all of the paperwork for insurance purposes too and submits it while you wait. She made the whole process painless, plus I have a couple of really beautiful bras, better than I've ever had. After having worn shoulder pads in my bras for a few weeks, it does feel different with the prosthesis, and is something else to get used to, but in a good way. |

Cleveland Area Bra and Prosthesis ShopsDoes anyone who lives in the Cleveland area have a bra and prosthesis fitter and/or store that they think is extraordinary? |

what did you do until you got fitted?Tomorrow will be 5 weeks since my "simple" mastectomy. I've done really well and went back to work almost 2 weeks after so I have re-purposed various shoulder pads that I had. There are different sizes and shapes and depending on the bra I wear, some work better than others. By the time I get home from work, I'm anxious to take it off. My Dr. gave me a prescription for the prothesis which said wait 4-6 weeks, so waiting 8 months wasn't what I had in mind! I don't think I'm quite ready, but thought I should be pretty well healed before doing that. Any other thoughts about that? |
