Removing OvariesMy Onc is requiring a complete hysterectomy as a form of hormonal therapy even though my Oncotype results were very low but my family history is littered with cancer. I was only Stage 1. I am not taking tamx nor will I need any follow up drug after having the extra surgery. Race Girl Dx 1/1/2008, IDC, 1cm, Stage I, Grade 2, 0/3 nodes, ER+/PR-, HER2- |

Muscle Cramping w/Tissue expandersI've had 6 fills and the doctor ordered 6 more. It's very uncomfortable and painful. I am usually crabby the day of the fill and the day after. I take 5 mg of Valium for muscle spasms and Oxycodone for pain. I find it very difficult to sleep at night but am keeping with the schedule to get this over with. Good luck to you~ Race Girl Dx 1/1/2008, IDC, 1cm, Stage I, Grade 2, 0/3 nodes, ER+/PR-, HER2- |

continued Tissue expander pain!!Hi Lisa Ellen, I wanted to have a complete hysterectomy based on my family history, seems like we have every cancer known to the female body. I thought having everything removed would just cut down the chances of the cancer returning. And What's up with the tissue expander pain and discomfort! Wow....I am crabby the day of and the day after it is so uncomfortable and painful, so much so that my job told me I can't work in the office while on pain meds. I could be off work for months seeing that I'm looking at 2 more surgeries plus the nipple reproduction. I take muscle relaxers and oxycodone for pain, and it's not easy sleeping at night, I've learned to roll over very slowly. Wow, I think I covered everything in this reply. I too vow to be in better shape when all this is done, I'm having some lypo done when my 500 cc implants are installed. I became a widow last year and cancer this year, I think I deserve to look and feel my best. Cheers~ |

TamoxofenTamoxofen v. ovaries I had invasive ductal carcinoma stage 1 estrogen positive, no chemo needed but I am concerned about taking tamoxofen for 5 years, I am 45 years old and think losing the ovaries would be better than taking a drug for 5 years. Any suggestions? |

continued Tissue expander pain!!Hi Lisa, I am thinking about having my ovaries out to prevent from taking tamoxifen, I'm 45 and my doctor is trying to persuade me to leave the ovaries even though my cancer is estrogen positive. How are you doing without ovaries? |

continued Tissue expander pain!!I'm on my 4th injections in my tissue expanders and it is so painful! I went back to work after 5 weeks off work from a bilateral mastectomy and couldn't hack it. I scaled back to part time at work but still find doing an 8 hour shift very difficult. I need to take my pain meds and muscle relaxers during the day but of course they make me lethargic. I had no idea this would be as painful as it is. I have 4 more injections to go and then the final implants will be put in. I'm starting to dread my injection appointments. |
