Use PET scans aggressively for recurrence and NED status!!!!My oncologist ordered a pet scan after a CT showed possible liver Metasis. The pet scan showed that I had no cancer in the liver, but it gave me a false positive for having it in the lymph nodes. Since I had just completed chemo - it was pretty frightening to think I had a new tumor. Thank goodness it all turned out to be OK. My doctor does not believe in routine scans - and after going through the anxiety of them - I am glad she does not. |

Herceptin TreatmentI am currently on Herceptin and my last Muga was 47 - they decided to give me 2 more treatments and then if my Muga isn't better - they will stop treatment for awhile. I have also been trying to find info on shorter treatment with Herceptin - but so far all I have seen is studies that still appear to be underway. Since I am stage III I know my oncologist is going to want to continue the treatments. I did ask my oncologist about the nine weeks and he said the current recommendation is still 1 year and that shorter treatment protocals were being tested. |

High blood pressure/HerceptinI went through reconstruction while I was on Herceptin and Tamoxifen - I had no trouble tolerating it - I had the Silicone implant, I did not have high blood pressure problems. Are you measuring your BP at home? Mine is always high at the doctor's office but low at home. |
