Chemo and SmokingI too was a smoker for 20 years. I quit on January 1st of this year. I had tried gum and patches in the past but nothing worked for me. I then got a prescripotion for Chantix and was able to easily quit. No withdrawal! No climbing the walls.. No weight gain..No nothing. For me, it is a miracle drug and I would urge anyone who really wants to quit, to speak to their doctor about it. Best of luck to all. |

infilitrating ductal adenocarinoma grade 3Hi Bluesky, You have no idea how reassuring your response was. I have been sick with worry today and just can't believe that this is happening. My mind is just spinning and I can't seem to get a grip. I am 53 years old and never ever had any medical issues in my life. I am thrilled to hear that your oncologist is so optomistic about your bc. You have given me hope and I know that I can fight this..no matter what it takes. I am so glad I found this forum so that I can talk to people like you. Thanks for the prayers and good vibes..Right back at you! Debbie |

infilitrating ductal adenocarinoma grade 3Just got my pathology report from my March 24th lumpectomy. I sure would appreciate any info from others with the same diagnosis. Here it is: Stage llA Infiltrating ductal carcinoma, MBR grade ll, 1.6 cm in size, 3.0 mm from anterior surgical margin. Minimal component of ductal carcinoma in situ, solid & cribriform types, nuclear grade 2/3. I also had 7 lymph nodes removed. 6 were negative but the sentinal lymph node was positive for metastic carcinoma. I am I am seeing an oncologist in 2 weeks. Am I going to live? |

If you have just been diagnosed....Thanks Crazydaisy for your comments and support. You haven't heard the last of me yet. I'll be back after I have my follow up on Tuesday with my surgeon. I have some questions for her but would appreciate any suggestions as to the kinds of questions I should ask. Thanks so much. I don't even know what stage I am but assume that I must be a stage 2 because I have a positive lymph node involved. Debbie |

If you have just been diagnosed....I have been sitting back for the last 2 days just reading everyones comments and trying to learn as much as I can about what I am in for. I am 53 years old and just had a lumectomy last week. Just spoke with my surgeon by phone and was told that 1 out of 7 lymph nodes came back positive. I spent most of the day crying and am now ready to move on and get better. I have so many questions and it seems that I have found a great place to talk with others. I don't feel so alone today after spending many hours in this forum. Just wanted to introduce myself because I think I will have lots of questions. Debbie |

Understanding your Pathology ReportI do not have the pathology report yet. I just had a lumpectomy on March 24th. I spoke with my Dr. yesterday and she stated that 1 out of 7 lymph nodes was positive. I do not see her until April 8th for my follow up and I am going crazy waiting. I just want to know what stage I am. I am 53 years old, post menapausal. My tumor was 1.3 cm. 1 lymph node was positive. From what I have researched, I believe that I am a stage IIA. Any input would help. Thanks Debbie |
