Metastatic lymph node?Shirlann, They don't know for sure if it is a metatastic lymph node. The node is enlarged and suspicious. I'm going to have it biopsied as soon as possible. Thanks for the info. Rocky |

Metastatic lymph node?If anyone could give me some help I would greatly appreciate it. I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in January, 2008. After receiving a lumpectomy twice because of not having clean margins my 26 lymph nodes were removed. The lymph nodes were biospied and were not found to be cancerous. Three months of chemo and 33 radiation treatments later I thought that everything was fine. Then I found a lump under my arm on the side where the cancer was and should it to the doctor. He was concerned and sent me right away for a new mammo and ultrasound. My report came back and said that they recommend a biospy because it could be a metastatic lymph node. This has now thrown me into another tail spin. If anyone else has gone through something like this please please can you give me some advice. My husband is trying hard to help me but he just doesn't know what to do. He is worried and on top of all of this HURRICANE GUSTAV is headed in our direction. After losing my home to HURRICANE KATRINIA we moved 40 miles away and are facing another storm. If the storm causes too much damage around my area I will have to go somewhere else to have the biospy done. I don't want to wait too long and neither does my doctor. I am a nervous wreck and don't know how much more I can take. Rocky |

Going Crazy Again.do you trust anyone?Just remember that your not alone. I would suggest that you find a doctor that you feel comfortable with. All of my doctors have been awesome. I was diagnosed in December and have just completed all of my treatments. There have been many days that I felt alone and wondered why did this happen to me. At 43 I didn't think that it could be possible. I tried to convince myself that the doctor had made a mistake. The surgeon that I had knew before I even had the surgery that the mass was cancer. Make sure that the doctors staff is knowlegable on treatments. My doctors nurse came in on my first visit with a folder with all kinds of information and told me to start a file of my own. This is very helpful. Keep all of your test results, lab reports and anything else that you can. This is the first time that I am writing any comments on this site. It has been hard facing the fact that I had breast cancer. Good luck and remember if you have a close family they will be there for you. Sometimes, they won't understand but as they watch you go through the steps they seem to get a better understanding. Rocky |
