Donations to help pay Medical Bills

Here is another thought. There is a wonderful charity based in So Cal that sponsors retreats for breast cancer survivors to enhance their self esteem. People from all over the US can attend. Check out www.chrysalistowings.com. They are a small charity and always need funds to underwrite the retreats. I went to the retreat and was so moved that I have donated hundreds of hours to help this charity with their upcoming golf tournament. Also, your Mom would probably love to attend the retreat in April, 2009. Maybe, someone can donate the fee($120) to have her attend. The retreat costs much more, but the fundraising offsets the cost.

Retreats

Hi Donna,

I also live in SoCal and attended a great retreat sponsored by Chrysalis to Wings. The retreat is held in April (you just missed it) and is held in Joshua Tree,CA. Retreat is for 3 days and is usually about $120. Scholarships are also available. I loved the retreat so much that I am now helping with the fundraising for the golf tournament in June.

Another SoCal retreat is Healing Odyssey(I have not attended, but have heard great things about it). I think there is a retreat in October.

Conference for Women Living with Advanced Breast Cancer

Hi,

I am new to the boards (I have been reading them for a while, but have never posted.)-- I was diagnosed with Stage IV bc in 2005 and I am going to the conference. I am flying in from So Cal and am staying at the hotel where the conference is located. I am looking for a roommate and would love to meet the other members on this board.
