Nail issues

Hi Nanda,

I really feel for you as I had the same experience on Taxotere, my toe nails and finger nails just looked so bad, I couldn't find anything to help the regrowth and it took about 6 months for them to look 'normal',  I wish there was something I could tell you worked a treat but it was only time that made them look any better, at times I used to cover my finger nails with bandaids... Sorry not much help but just want you to know that I've experienced this too and before you know it they will have grown back.

Green Tea and Herceptin

thanks CP418

I've found an article that states that EGCG (something in green tea) in combination with trastuzumab may provide a novel strategy for treatment of Her2, they found that EGCG inhibits Her2 driven breast cancer cells resistant to herceptin...  Very interesting - not sure where the idea came from that ladies on herceptin should not drink green tea.  Thank you so much, I'm now enjoying my much loved green tea!

Green Tea and Herceptin

CP418

Wow  thanks I didn't realize just how wonderful green tea can be, given that I haven't read through all the articles, do you know if there is there one in there that says anything about herceptin?

Cheers X

Green Tea and Herceptin

Thanks so much LJ13

I guess I kinda freaked out when I read something on the discussion board that women on herceptin should avoid drinking green tea as it's supposed to interfere with treatment.  There wasn't any scientific evidence mentioned but the mind just wonders when people write stuff like that.  Thanks again.

Green Tea and Herceptin

I'd really appreciate any wisdom on drinking green tea while on herceptin, I've read some ancedotal topics saying that we should avoid drinking it and others that say it's fine.  I'm just so confused as I've been drinking it for a while and nearly finished my herceptin... I'd love to know if there are any ladies in the same position or know anything on the topic.

Study says SE mean hormone therapy is working

Sorry ladies I'm a bit confused and slightly frantic... I had SE's for the first 3 months while on tamox, after 3 months they completely disappeared and now I don't experience any SE's at all.  What category does this put me in?   Risky or not so risky?

Diagnosed at 23

Hi, I was diagnosed at 29 (June 2007) with grade III BC, I've had a mastectomy, and underwent 6 cycles of chemo, FEC & Taxotere and currently receiving Herceptin as well as Tamoxifin.  I think it's only now that I'm able to talk about what's actually happened with others who have gone through the same ordeal, I just wanted to say a massive thank you to those who have posted and shared their own personal stories.  X

taxotere and permanent hair loss

After becoming frustrated at my lack of hair growth after receiving Taxotere I thought I would google taxotere and hair loss and I'm so glad I did, I know it's not much comfort but I too have had no eyebrow re-growth and my head is rather monk like.  I was diagnosed at 29 and I too suffered from awful joint pain during treatment.  If there are any helpful hints on how to promote regrowth I would be so grateful.
