Help!! My legs feel like lead!

I had that issue - finally my onc gave me lasix - it really helped, but you have to take it regularly for a week or longer to really get rid of the fluid.  Make sure you also take a potassium supplement too.

About-to-Start-Hormones Group

I can't believe how much information this one thread has given me - thank you KAK for starting this!  I have 2 boosts left, then see my Med Onc about Tamoxifen - I feel like this has given me some very practical questions to ask.  Has anyone heard of taking Zometa to increase bone stregnth and decrease chance of bone mets?  I too am 42, itchy, tired but so proud of the short (now grey) hair I have - I went au natural today and didn't scare anyone at my kid's school.

SEPTEMBER 2008 rads group

Hi Chris- I had that problem for about a week - couldn't sleep, everything hurt - wearing a bra, not wearing a bra, moving.  When I started my boosts, which are to the side, my dr. let me put Silvadene on the underside since it wasn't near the rads site - it healed it within days - it was amazing how much better it felt just after 2 days.

SEPTEMBER 2008 rads group

I looked into a LGFB program in my area - they are monthly at most of the hospitals.  I am going to try to get to one next Tuesday - sounds great!  I am sooo dry, have very little hair and lost my eyelashes a month after chemo!  Love the bartender!

Hi Kristy,

I had a ca-125 test done yesterday - that will give me an idea of how quickly we need to move on it.  I hate the thought of having this hanging over my head after the holidays - but I really want to enjoy the holidays - my kids are 11 and 8.  I was feeling this I was at the end of a long journey, but now this has come up - I was really looking forward to being done!  Good luck with the test!  Every day brings a new adventure.

Hi Kristy,

I have not been to the Message boards - I too will finish radiation next week, I am in my boost stage - had chemo over the summer - and now having conversations with my gyn about hysterectomy.  My thoughts are the same as yours - I want it over with so it isn't hanging over my head in the new year and for insurance reasons - but I really want to enjoy the holidays with my children - it's a tough one!

How are you leaning?

Thanks,

Lisa
