Reconstruction recovery questionThank you for responding. She actually had the implants put in about 4 weeks ago so the fear is that it is still uncomfortable like when she had the expanders. Will this go away over time? |

Reconstruction recovery questionI am glad I found this board. I am asking these questions for my mother who, unfortunately doesn't feel she has these answers from her surgeon. She had a bilateral mastectomy w/reconstruction using expanders. We are wondering how long recovery takes? When does the swelling generally go down? She is 4 weeks out of surgery but feels really tight at night. She is really worried that she will feel uncomfortable for the rest of her life. Can anyone share their experiences?
