Oakland CA, kaiser...? Bay Area recon...?

Hi Tennille,
I had Dr Werninghaus at Kaiser Hayward. I found her after seeing about 5 other Kaiser plastic surgeons in Northern CA. Three of them advised that I see her because I was a perfect candidate for DIEP. I had the surgery 4 weeks ago, and I am so happy with the results. Still healing, but happy. I highly recommend her. She's a perfectionist.

Falling Appart

Hi there,
I have been reading comments for about an hour now. I had my DIEP on April 8 and could not believe how well I was healing (even saw my oncologist yesterday who said "my, you are such a good healer!") Needless to say, I think I may have been jinxed...
This morning, after my shower, the incision on my belly had a little bubble of pink and yellow gunk. Granted, it IS tiny, but I am so scared that it is going to grow & grow. I called my PS, but she was in surgery. I already had an appointment for tomorrow (luckily), so I will see what she thinks. I am supposed to return to work on Thursday, and I am so tired still.

ALSO - has anyone had the strange sensation that your flap material rubs on your ribs? Kind of like a washboard when you breath? Sometime, it even feels like my flap 'catches' on my rib for a minute and hurts until it 'uncatches'.

I haven't read about this in anyone's else's comments - just curious

Michelle
