Breast Surgeon Appt. This FridayI am a little late updating but wanted to follow through. I did see the Breast Surgeon. He has scheduled me for several ultrasounds this Friday. We will go from there, review the results, and he may do some biopsies right there (using the ultrasound), he may schedule an MRI or he may say they are all cystic lumps and get out of here. That would be the best option. He found more lumps under my arm, on my chest, and on the right breast. I think there are too many to be any thing to worry about. Sure hope I am right! I will update again. Thanks for your help. |

What Can I Expect at the Breast Surgeon Appt?Well, forgive me Shirlann. I must be a bit slow today. We have two surgeons in our family but they don't do breast. They are also far from grumpy. Actually, they both have a great sense of humor and are brilliant and dedicated. Is it just breast surgeons that are grumpy? What do you mean by your post "you don't even have anything yet" AND "even if you do, the surgeon's part is quick and short." I must be losing something in translation or else it is because I am new to this Board but I don't understand your comments. Could you please rephrase them? Long story short - I am still trying it figure out what to expect at the Breast Surgeon's office - I still don't know from this Post. The question was the sole purpose of my post. Thanks. |

What Does B9 Mean?leaf, Thanks. I know what benign means. My big sister has Stage 4 cancer. We used to pray for benign. I just saw B9 used so much on this Board and I was not familiar with the 'short word.' Thank you all for your help. |

What Can I Expect at the Breast Surgeon Appt?Robink, I too thought we needed lots of diagnostic tests 1st. My GYN said that by the feel of the lumps and the locations (breast, chest and under arm), coupled with the suspicious lung nodules which we are already watching that I needed the Surgeon sooner rather than later. Redweasel, good luck today. Thank you robink, Redweasel and wishiwere. Your help is invaluable to me. I feel like I am walking through a dark forest going "Huh, what??" |

What Does B9 Mean?I see it mentioned here and I don't have a clue as to what it means. I couldn't find a definition of it on this Forum. Thanks. |

What Can I Expect at the Breast Surgeon Appt?So my GYN set up this urgent appt. w/ the Breast Surgeon based on my breast and chest lumps. To refresh a bit, I am post-menopausal and 56. These lumps are hard, rigid and feel wierd - like sand. My appt. is in about 48 hours. What happens 1st at the Breast Surgeons? This is all happening so fast my head is spinning. Talk about freaking out! |

Breast Surgeon Appt. This FridayI posted under a separate email about my breast lumps and lung nodules. My GYN wants me to go see a Breast Surgeon about the "suspicious breast lumps." My appt. is this Friday afternoon. What happens at one of these appts. What should I ask? Can you tell I am a bit freaked about it all. My DH is on a business trip and won't be back until late Fri so I have to go by myself. Yikes. Anyway, what shoud I know? Thanks. |

I never would have thought of anxiety meds. After reading your post I called and they just phoned in a prescription. RedWeasel, goreat idea about questions. Where do I start? Have a good evening all. |

Stressed to Beat the BandWell, since I posted this a lot has happened. I developed several more lumps on my breast and my chest wall. A lot of the lumps are hard, rigid and feel like small pebbles. The other ones are hard, rigid and smooth. I went to my GYN and he said that many are them are "highly suspicious." He was very concerned (I like this Dr.) and he referred me immediately to a Breast Surgeon. They are setting up the appointment. At the same time, my Pulmonologist has been watching some suspicious lung nodules for a bit. We have been talking about a lung biopsy (we have just about exhausted all other diagnostic avenues.) So, now I am wondering if somehow what is happening in my lungs has speard to my left breast and chest wall. I had a very sleepless night. I know - don't worry. But let me tell you, when it is this scary you do worry. Thanks for letting me vent. |

moveable vs. non-moveable lumpsAre the lumps usually close to the surface of the breast or deeper down, closer to the chest wall? |

Stressed to Beat the BandI am 56, been in menopause for 1.6 years. I started bleeding heavily 6 months ago - fibroid - and started Estrogen in an attempt to stop the bleeding. I had a complete hysterectomy 4 weeks ago. For about 4 months prior to surgery I had not been doing self-exams. Stupid, I know. My sister has Stage 4 cancer and I am very distracted trying to help her. I did have a Mammogram and ultrasound in Jan. and was diagnosed Birads 3 (very cystic breasts.) Seven months ago I developed swollen lymph nodes in my neck. They are still there. A CT was done. Cause = unknown. For several months prior to surgery I kept thinking my left breast was very full. I attributed it to the bleeding. Two weeks ago I found two big lumps on my left breast. They do not feel at all like cysts. They are hard, rigid and seem to be lodged against my chest wall - if that makes any sense. We have a ton of cancer in my family and now I am really, really stressed about these lumps. They have not gone away. Maybe they are horomonal???? I am going to the Dr. on Monday but I am so stressed about these things that i had trouble sleeping last night. I usually don't worry about things. Heck, I have lung nodules that they can't diagnose yet and I am not worried about them. However, these breast lumps have me really worried for some reason. How do you control worry in these situations? Help! Thanks. |
