I'm bitchy, I moan, I groan.....anyway.Holy Suckola, wish. What a scary scenario - glad you got up to go potty or who knows what might have happened. My brother has a gun safe with a combination lock on it and not easy to break into. Ask the police for extra drive bys since this happened, even though they caught the guy. The guy must be a first class idiot to tromp thru snow and leave footprints. At least they caught him and no one was hurt. But THAT SUCKS Big time... Nothing sucky going on with me except waiting for surgery on Friday. I got the doctor to phone in a pain prescription which I will pick up today to have on hand when I get home. Laundry is today's chore. Hugs, Nancy Dx 5/2/2008, IDC, 2cm, Stage II, Grade 2, ER-/PR-, HER2+ |

I can't get my act together and I don't know whyI will put the short rib recipe here for all to see: The exact amount of meat (ribs) to use is up to you and the size of your crock pot. Need: Crock pot or maybe can do in the oven, but I never did in the oven. Short ribs Can of Crushed pineapple with juice Bottle of Bar B Q sauce Can of beer Chopped onions - I like LOTS, so use 3 ******** Braise the ribs under the broiler to draw off some of the fat - or fast cook in frying pan on top of the stove. The idea is to get some of the fat off before you put in the crock pot. Line bottom of the crock pot with chopped onions. Put ribs on top of onions. Then pineapple, bar b q sauce and beer. Put lid on and slow simmer for 6-8 hours or until tender. ************* If all the sauce and beer do not fit, put equal amounts of each - like half a bottle and half a can. ENJOY Dx 5/2/2008, IDC, 2cm, Stage II, Grade 2, ER-/PR-, HER2+ |

The Next Person GameTrue. One test I got a horrible grade on and went to the teacher to "defend" my answers and ended up with an A. She admitted she did not like essay tests because they took too long to grade. The next person knows today begins Advent. Dx 5/2/2008, IDC, 2cm, Stage II, Grade 2, ER-/PR-, HER2+ |

radiation-induced brachial plexopathyBarbara, have you tried those finger tip rubber thingies (now isn't that a great description) -like they use to count money in the bank? Staples has them and I cannot imagine they are very expensive. Maybe the kids count "wear" them and turn the pages for you... When I asked about RIBP, the rad onco told me that "only" about 10% get it. I told her I wanted to be in the majority and NOT the minority who get it. My surgery is Friday, and I will meet with her again to discuss rads and what to do to prevent it. The place that does lympadema pt has no appointments for 3 weeks and I questioned what I would do IF I got it after surgery -- we can put you on the wait list... Ånd how do they know when it is back to normal if no pre measurements??? Am I being too picky? NO way - it is MY body, my potential for more limitations - dare I say quality of life?? Good Luck. Anyone starting chemo in June 08I remember after my husband had open heart surgery and that big wound down the middle of his chest. They gave us saline solution to wash it with and said to air dry as much as possible till it healed over and that was like 20 years ago. Thanks Hunky - I am a list maker and will get most of it done if not all of it. I have some cryptogram and cross word books, and a couple of DVD's that I enjoy watching over and over - Shawshank Redemption is my all time favorite. Have a good weekend. I'm bitchy, I moan, I groan.....anyway.Christmas, schritzmas !!! I agree that all the hoopla is too stressful. I have not done a tree for the past 5 years - call me Scrooge if you want, but just for me is silly. I was thinking of getting the CD or DVD that has a glowing fireplace that shows in the TV screen, but my TV is small and on top of a long table and would look weird. Once my son and his wife have kids, I think it will be lots of fun with the surprise and gifts and all, but for now - nope. I do have several holiday tops and one dressy blouse with gold stripes and poinsettias embroidered on it. Maybe I will change from a wig to a Santa hat to cover my head !! Don't you just love people who tell you when and where to be and what to do? I dig my heels in and say I am not in the mood, or help me out and explain why I have to do it because YOU said so. (((Wish))), sorry about your uncle. I had a phone call from 2 friends - one's sister died and the other is doing hospice in her home for her sister. This time of year they say more people die than any other time of the year -- what a happy thought... NOT !!! Let's get out the smilies and have a good weekend. I can't get my act together and I don't know whyDaffodil, my ribs are quite tasty and fall off the bone, like that TV ad for the Starter Wife. I like Folgers Colombian coffee. We could put up a sign for benefit of BC survivors (us...!!!)... I do think we need a permit or license, but if we asked for a donation, not sure. Egad, it is almost Dec 1 and I am so not ready for it all. My son's inlaws had me over for Thanksgiving and gave me my Christmas presents since they go to their condo in Florida in a week or so. I was taken by surprise with the thoughtfulness of a donation to the Am Cancer Society and a gorgeous pale blue fuzzy wrap. My shopping is going to be online or IF I see something when I am out and about. Let my fingers do the walking (shopping), as the old Yellow Pages ad used to say !! Have a super duper weekend and enjoy. HUGS, Nancy Dx 5/2/2008, IDC, 2cm, Stage II, Grade 2, ER-/PR-, HER2+ |

The Next Person GameTrue, I will write out checks and attempt to balance the checkbook !! I too feel the love of this sisterhood and cannot thank everyone for the support given. I can't get my act together and I don't know whyMouses are not welcome in my house. Thank goodness I am now in an apartment and hope will not have them. Never had cats, so traps were the way for me to go. I have to get it together for food on hand for after my surgery next Friday - maybe make some cabbage soup and freeze it and some short ribs in the crock pot. Short ribs with bar b q sauce, onions (I love onions), crushed pineapple, and a can of beer. Sweet/sour taste and the beer evaporates. Since my taste is back, I can once again enjoy food and not feel like it is either cardboard or sawdust !! Daffodil, you must be somewhat near me - I am in Alexandria. Instead of renting out your place, set up a coffee stand on the front lawn... Give Starbucks some competition. Kes, I dare not count all MY undies - got plenty of them also. Hugs and have a good weekend. Nancy Dx 5/2/2008, IDC, 2cm, Stage II, Grade 2, ER-/PR-, HER2+ |
