Under/over treatment for DCIS?hi! my name is ellie. i am 30 years old. when i was 28 i found a lump. i went threw all kinds of test. april 2007 i had the lump removed. dcis was found. my mom died at the age of 47 of flew blown cancer and her sister died the same way at the age of 42. breast cancer ran in my family, i had gentic testing done, then another surgery in sept.2007. i had tissue removed. to my surprise more dcis was found. i have a 8 year old and my husband is in the army. i couldn't belive this was really happing. i meant with more surgeons, i decided to have both my breast removed due to history in my family. i'm told i made the right choice. i knew dcis was found in the left side, but about a week after my surgery, more dcis was found on the left as well as my right. my right breast was never a concern, but cancer was found, where pictures and ultra sounds couldn't find. i'm greatful to my surgeons! i am undergoing recontrion now. sometimes it hurts so bad. but then i remeber my mom and how strong she was and just wish she was here to hold my hand. please take care! ellie |

insurance denial after recon...help!!i'm sorry this happening too you. it took forever to find a surgeon that took my insurance. i wanted them too use my own tissue, but my insurance would not cover it. so i had no choice but to get the breast expanders. i would try and contact someone in your insurance company, they should had the ok before they did anything too you. |
