MRII start to get nervous when the elevator door takes too long to open. This is the only "symptom" of claustrophobia I have. I was able to control it when I was trapped in a stalled evevator with my two babies. When I had my MRI, I told the doctor about this and he gave me several sedatives just in case. I wasn't going to take them until they started closing me into the machine. The techs were very patient and waited the 1/2 hour it took for the meds to work before putting me back. If you are nervous, it is better to be safe and have some meds with you so you can get the test over with. You can always throw them out if you don't need them. I also agree with the others who advise against two doses of dye in the same day. I developed a serious allergic reaction because of a test where more than one dose was used. I ended up in ICU for several days. Now I can not have any dyes at all. This limits the non invasive testing that can be done for me so please be careful. |

Vaginal Atrophy -- say it ain't so!I recently discovered I have vaginal atrophy. During intercourse with my husband I bled severely. It took about ten minutes for the bleeding to stop. I have no other symptoms until this event. After a five minute visit with my OB/Gyn he wrote me a script for Vagifem but only the maintenance dose of twice a week. It is supposed to be used once a day for 14 days to start, then twice a week. I get debilitating migraines about three times a month. Estrogen makes these worse. And it states on the patient info that this is a side effect of using this med. I am terrified of using this and having worse migraines. What is the worst case if I do not treat this vaginal atrophy. Is it short term or does it have to be used indefinitely? Also, my mom just died from ovarian cancer which makes me really scared about using any form of estrogen. I really need some support from other women who have been there! Thanks |
