Diagnosed in December 2007. Unilateral mastectomy Jan. 2008 (3 tumors totalling about 4cm). Stage 2B. Chemotherapy (CT) and then 28 sessions of radiation. Tolerated surgery and chemo well, but radiation and hormones put me over the edge. Was on Arimidex for 7 weeks. Switched to Aromasin on July 10. Not sure if it's any better. SE: numbness in hands, joint pain, mental spaciness, badly broken fingernails

Has anyone done well on aromasin?I've been on Aromasin for about 8 weeks (on Arimidex for 7 wks before) Up til now the joint pain was much better than on Arimidex. I'd been having numbness, usually only in the morning for 5-15 minutes, usu. only in one hand or foot. But this morning it lasted several hours, woke me up, and I also had bad pains in my arm/elbow (same side as numb hand) anyone else having trouble with numbness and joint pain on Aromasin? PROBLEMS WITH ARIMIDEXI hated the Arimidex. I took it for 7 weeks. Now I'm on Aromasin. Not sure if it's any better. I recovered well from mastectomy (Jan. 2008) and tolerated chemotherapy well (Feb-April 2008). But in late May I started Arimidex and then started 28 sessions of radiation. I think this is the lousiest I've felt. It's frustrating because I thought that after getting through surgery and chemotherapy it was time to start feeling better. My SE: joint pain (both wrists, one knee), feel mentally spacy, badly broken fingernails, morning numbness in hands |

Slight numbness in toes and feetI've been on Arimidex for 7 weeks and now Aromasin (instead) for 3 weeks. I have numbness in my hands (usually just one or the other),usu.in the morning. It's different from the fingertip numbness I had occasionally during chemotherapy. Usually this lasts only about10minutes but this morning it was about 90 min. |

Aromasin and hotflashesI was on Arimidex for 7 weeks,then I changed to Aromasin (about 3 weeks ago). Not sure if it's any better, though I think the joint pain is less bad. Do you have trouble with numbehands,esp.in the morning? What about badly broken fingernails? |

Anyone started Arimidex in 2008?(I think you're talking about vaginal dryness?) ------I've found that Astroglide (OTC, and available everywhere, even at Safeway) works the best. Does anyone have trouble with numbness in the hands? How about badly broken fingernails? |

Anyone started Arimidex in 2008?Hi. I started Arimidex on May 23. I took it for 7 weeks. I was miserable. Now I've been on Aromasin for 3 weeks. I'm not sure it's any better, but I think the joint pain (mostly my wrists) is better. My side effects(on Arimidex and Aromasin): feel spacy, joint pain, hot flashes, AND - HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE - my fingernails have broken very very far down (half way below the top of the finger) |
