Need you to share symptoms......pleaseI posted under IBC a few weeks ago "Itchy Rash". Had a punch biopsy done last week and get the results tommorrow. I have to say that the itchy, isn't as itchy, but I have been having shooting pains through my nipple and just an all over ache for days. I am overweight, so I can't tell if my lymph nodes are swollen. Mam was normal a few weeks ago. Oh, the breast involved has gotten significantly SMALLER. I am so confused and worried. Any of this sound familiar at all? |

Itchy RashI had 2 skin punch biopsies done yesterday. The surgeon (2nd opinion) didn't think it looked like IBC, which was reassuring. He was concerned that the rash did not respond to the RX that the previous surgeon has prescribed, which is why he wanted to biopsy it. I am beginning to feel like I am over reacting and have been for the past few weeks. It is so terribly consuming of my thoughts and emotions. New symptom? I have been having pain under my arm and weakness of the arm the past few days, but (again), it is probably all in my head. I hope to have results of biopsy on Tuesday, so wish me luck! |

Itchy RashOk, so here's the update. Went to the surgeon today and he examined my breast and prescribed a fungal/steroid cream. He said if the rash isn't gone in TWO WEEKS, he will do a biospy in the office. When questioned about IBC, he said it never presents with the type of rash that I have. I stated that Hopkins website states a pink or red rash and he still did not agree. I left the office and bawled like a baby. I am going on 6 weeks with this. I talked to the pharmacist and he said the medication will start to clear up the rash immediately. We wil see. Any advice? How long should I wait before I get a second opinion? |

Itchy RashHi ladies, I have been on an emotional rollercoaster the past few weeks. I was wondering how your ibc started? I have had a rash on only one breast for over 5 weeks. I have tried hydrocortizone, neosporin, fungal creams, yeast creams, etc. My gyn is sending me to a surgeon on Wednesday, after he mentioned ibc and that he doesn't think it is, but wants to be sure. My breast has a spotty red rash and seems to be spreading. Not swollen or inverted nipple. sometimes warm. Just really itchy and seems to be getting painful at times. I am 37 yrs 2 years post hysterectomy for endometriosis. I am reading some very scary stories. Anderson Cancer center symptoms show pink or red rash as a symptom. Any of this sound similar? Just wanted to let it be known that my biopsy came back neg for IBC today. Yeah! (Read previous posts for history) I cried a lot today, not because I was totally"happy" (which I am obviously) but because I am confused. Dr. wants me to see a dermatologist, which is sensless, since the rash is going away. The pain is still there, like needles shooting through my nipple and my breast is noticably shrinking. Dr. stated that there are not any bc's that start with shrinking of the breast and I am too young. (38) Then I google "shrinking breast" and it comes up ILC. I feel totally irrational now. I really feel like I am loosing my mind. I know as a woman, I have to be my own advocate for my healthcare if I FEEL like something is wrong, but it would be much easier if Dr.'s would listen. I FEEL LIKE SOMETHING is wrong or just not right! My mammo came back clear a few weeks ago. Any suggestions? Can anyone recommend a dr in SW Florida that won't think I am crazy?
