I was told on this thread that Tamoxifen can be prescribed for pre or post menopausal women. That's the way I feel Elizabeth - I'm going when I can to talk about just doing 10mg. daily. From that one study it was found 10mg is just as effective as 20mg. with less side-effects

I'm so sorry - 3mm that to me was completely uncalled for. I can see why you are so upset. If I had to do it again I would say no tattoos. I think it just makes their job easier. Let us know what the dr./hosp. says.

Me too - mine are very tiny but blue in color. And I'm fair skinned. I have to wear a pendent on necklace to hide mine. Frown

Thanks for explaining ladies about using Taxo.

I might go for the 5/10 but no way 20mg. Everything seems to be a overkill.

Have a good day everyone !!

Hi again Ladies,

I'm still deciding on Tamox. I need to make an dr. appointment just to talk again and get that test- I'm curious. Plus I want him to check my estro. level again.  Is the usual dose 20mg?           What about a low dose of 10mg?

Wait - isn't tamox for premenopausal women ??

You all are so sweet! I want to cry!

It is a very tough decision - I don't want to try it and then have side effects that won't go away. I will check out the links you have posted. I wouldn't have to worry about uterine cancer because I had a hysterectomy about 10 yrs. ago when I had OVC - early stage (thank goodness) I had a hyster. and chemo. I was fine until this BC came up because of high estrogen. My diet was terrible, never exercised and stress is horrible.

Thanks for all the information you share. Love you all!

Yes, KristyAnn - I have a spot that itches all the time. What do you put on it? I've tried most everything.

The side effects just are too scary for me. Have you read what they are? Quality of life is more important to me - even if it is short. Thank God - it was caught early and it was very tiny.

Hi ladies,

I need to vent - and get some insight from you please.

Can someone fill me in on tamoxifen - oncolog. just called - infact I've had two calls since this am. First they wanted me to come in. I told them my mom was sick and I was caring for her and couldn't right away. Then I get another call from nurse I think and said that I should start it now. I told her I would come in and discuss it with the dr. but that I probably wouldn't be taking it - too many side effects. Why can't they take no for an answer? What are you ladies doing?

Good Morning Ladies,

Wow, more graduates !! Congrats.  Good thing NancyD has her bartending license! Laughing

Thanks for sharing so much inform. Well, been a little over a week since finishing - and am fighting another new blister under my breast, some peeling but my breast is less sore. The bad blister under my arm is completely gone - Silverdene works great on those blisters.

Have a restful weekend, and a smooth week. I'm continuing prayers and good thoughts for our group~ xxHugsxx

I hope your blister is better Sharon. This last week I had to cover the blister under my arm with silverdene and woven gauze and placed a cotton wrap all the way around my body. That was the only way I could get it to heal. So this evening the large blister under my node scar has healed quit a bit- but still tender.  I have noticed new blisters this Friday under my breast- so I have been putting the silverdene on those. I have noticed more SE after radiation than during - small blisters, peeling, still those shooting pains, nipple soreness. Only good thing right now is my redness is fading. I've chosen not to do hormone therapy - Al. I already have osteo-arthritis so taking Al scares me! I stopped my estogen patch a couple of months ago, changed my diet dramatically, and will start my daily walking very soon. I'm keeping the faith for no reoccurance!

Congratulations to all those finished!!! Laughing I'm continuing to keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.

Have a Good Week!

Thanks for your prayers and kind thoughts - my huge blister is alittle better. Silvadene has helped so much. Hopefully I will get through work tomorrow and can get this blistered area completely under control this weekend.

Today was my last boost! This sounds strange but I'm going through alot of emotions this evening - happy but kind of sad.

Weekend's coming!! Hang in there everyone!  I'm praying for you all Kiss
