Oh Lainey one more thing, I totally agree on the excersicing.  I was doing a boot camp for four months before diagnosis, and i'm sure that helped me through chemo treatment.  I still tried to do treadmill and walk even during chemo, and i sure could tell the difference on the days i did!!!  I also didnt gain any weight during chemo. K now i'm off til later!!

I did the four Ac and the four Taxol, two weeks apart.  Worked for me, i had at least one probably more nodes and a 3 cm tumor, completely gone when i was done with chemo.  Not one microsopic cell left.  There was a time during the taxol when my bones hurt, not everyone gets the bone pain, i was one of the lucky ones, and i was considering lowering the dosage, but i decided to stick it out, and i'm glad i did!!!  Ok, I'm logging off and taking a shower now ;0)  been on the computer too much this morning!!

auxillary Lymph node recover

My arm still hurts!!!  I think i may have overdone it yesterday!!  It kills me to be home and not do my normal stuff, and i could tell my husband was stressed out, so I made a salad and did the kids lunches, plus I drove quite a bit for the first time.  I'm borrowing my sisters car though, a jetta, cos i have a big SUV, cant quite imagine driving that yet.  I have my first follow up visit with my BS today, so that should be interesting.  I've only seen my PS since my surgery.  It'll be my first discussion re my pathology report.  I want to find out what it means in terms of recurance, since i had a total response to chemo.  Now ive got to get dressed and try and find a shirt that I can pull up, that covers this big Drs bra, and that isnt too hot, since its supposed to be hot today ;)

I did the dose dense every two weeks.  I wasnt half as bad as i had it in my mind it would be!!!  It wasnt fun, but it went by quickly, and i still had a life throughout treatment:)

What does a complete repsonse to chemo mean for our survival?

LilacLady, Did you have chemo first?  Was it in your nodes?  Sorry this happened to you.

Ugh I have that brick feeling too.  like I cant completly put my arm touching where i used to at the top.  Ok that makes no sense, but thats how it feels, like something stuck in the middle!!!  Very annoying.  I didnt have taxatore, but I had taxol, and it was much easier than the AC!!!  I just had some bone pain.  But vicodin helped with that :)

Here's to healing arms!!!

Masectomy after lumpectomy

I had a mastectomy on one side last week, had chemo first, complete response, and i'm thinking I may go back after radiation and get the other side done.  I know it doesnt reduce the mets odds, but wouldnt it cut down on the stressing and breast exams and mamos?  One less worry i'm thinking?  I know you can still get it in the scar tissue, but still... I'm going to talk to my BS on tuesday and see what he says

difference btw immediate implant placement and expanders

Are you sure she hasnt had implants already?  I had my surgery last week, but had breast augmentation 2 years ago, so the pocket was already there, and the PS just popped a bigger implant in, after the BS did the masectomy.
