Right breast pain- burningI hope the pain goes away. I didnt have any pain, swelling, hematomas, nothing after the biopsy in may. Its been 4 months, should it just start hurting now? Tama, Have you been back to your Dr? If so, what did they say? Thanks for responding Jen |

Right breast pain- burningIn May 2008 I found a lump in rt breast (by armpit), had it removed, diagnosed as a reactive lymph node. No problems until about 10 days ago, when I rolled over in bed onto my stomach and jumped out of bed in pain. It was the worst pain I have ever felt and not like any pain I have ever had. It now is so painful when i push on my breast, move my breast, take off my bra, any sudden movement or change in my breast position causes the excruciating burning pain that starts on the inside of my breast (by my cleavage) it radiates up to my nipple and then throughout the entire breast. The sharp burning only last 10-15 seconds but then the whole breast has an uncomfortable burning ache for about 10 minutes after. Then if I move the breast or push on it or bump it, the pain starts all over again. The pain is from deep within the breast tissue- its not superficial. The inside of my breast (by the cleavage) and the areola are slightly swollen, but I cant see any other changes. I went to my gyn yesterday, he said he couldnt feel any lumps, ans started me on anti-inflammatorys (800mg three times a day). He wants me to follow-up with my breast specialist. The anti-inflammatorys havent helped the pain at all yet. Sorry about the rambling, I guess my question is: Can this be nerve pain from a minor procedure so long ago? I know breast cancer doesnt normally present with pain, but has anyone else had anything like this? I am normally a procrastinator with drs appts- but I dont want to put off an appt with the specialist if this could be something serious. Thanks in advance for any help. Jen |
