Hpw bad is the AC/T chemo, anyways??Hi, I am doing the dose dense AC now. The 3-5 days I am very tired a queasy if I try to do any thing. but then I get some energy back. I would think you could home school if you have your lessons planed ahead and I need to have food made up ahead of time. I can heat & serve but cooking a meal is not something I want to be doing on my bad days. I have heard a lot of women work though I do not know how I could. I too jut lost my hair and that has been the worst so far. Good Luck, Deb :) Deb :) Dx 9/9/2008, IDC, 2cm, Stage II, Grade 3, 0/6 nodes, ER-/PR-, HER2- |

Clinical Trial E5103Hi Carolyn, I am trying to get 64 oz of fluid in every day but I can not drink water it tastes terrible to me even with lemon , I am drinking herbal teas. I did have trrouble withmy sinuises also but making sure I get the fliuds in has helped. The nurse at the onc office said to make sure that the teas have no caffiene and if that did not help to use the netting pot i got one but ahve not had to use it yet, I just continue to sound like rachael ray, sometimes it is worse, at least it does not hurt, just some time hard to talk. I hope It is a sign of the avastin, thanks, Everybody have a great SE free day, Deb:) Deb :) Dx 9/9/2008, IDC, 2cm, Stage II, Grade 3, 0/6 nodes, ER-/PR-, HER2- |

For those who "could" have Lumpectomy.... why choose Mast?I chose a mast as I wanted to best outcome with the least procedures. I had heard of too many women that had to go for more sx as their dr does not get good margins with the lumpectomy. They told me I would have to have chemo then lumpectomy possibly more chemo and rad. With the mastectomy I had sx and chemo and since no positive lymphs NO rad WOO HOO. Not fun but not so many procedures and I had sz 10-2 and no regrets. Hope this helps some of you it is a hard choice and yours alone to make. My BS laid out the options but seemed puzzled that I would chose a mast instead of lumpectomy since the surviual is the same, but recurrance is not!!!! Anyone starting chemo in October 08?Hi All, MY #2tx AC/? Avastin went well yesterday. I was getting anxious but I guess that is to be expected DH and I went to Macy's after and shopped for stainless pots and pans.(It was supposed to be a big sale but you had to use their card and dh hates that gimick) AN early christmas present .I did find a set for not too much. My old tfal set was really scratched and I had read that was a possible cancer causing agent, having them scratched. Have any of you changed any thing in your lifestlye yet to keep this from never happening again with God's good grace. I know all of our lives have been turned upside down with sx,chemo, procedures, hair los. It is hard to try to make possitve changes when we are just trying to get through the day. I am finding just trying to get the fluids in me they want is a challenge, let alone to cook and eat right. I am trying to walk around the house some to get 20 -30 minutes and some arm exercises. Any helpful hints that you all are able to due would be welcomed. P.S. The onc did put me on new med to try on day 4 to see if I can read or knit or post on the computer ( I have been quite nauseuous when I do any thing) have any of you tried anitvert? Have a great blessed SE day, Deb:) Deb :) Dx 9/9/2008, IDC, 2cm, Stage II, Grade 3, 0/6 nodes, ER-/PR-, HER2- |

My dd is 17 and she went to a high school football play off game she is my youngest and though very trying after work it was fun taking her trick or treating. My husband has his own business and this is his very slow time of year and I am waiting for my diability check. We always have a hard til jan. The Social worker at the chemo site said they might have some $ for a wig for me if I can find one at the place they deal with. WOO HOO Pray it works out. Thanks for you thoughts. and I did take a plactic cup with me just in case I had to pee but, just when I needed to there was a McDonalds. I am feeling pretty good today so I must have drank enough water. I am trying to continue to drink alot today too. Clinical Trial E5103GOOD MORNING I did have a smooth but long almost 12hours with drive time, day lots of info from the nurse the social worker. They were all really nice. I think my dh had a worst day watching it all happen to me.After I got settled in and after the A in went in with out problems. He got me setup on the lap top and I had my ipod and a goodbook to read, I told him to go to Cabelas It is only 15 -20 mins away and iWAS going to be another 3-4 hours I think that helped him some. He is a sweetheart and will be ther with me if I want but the pain on his face is almost more than I can bear. I hoped that helped him. He is a really quiet guy. :):) I love him so much. I I took emend 1 hour before and they gave aloxi & dex in the iv. I just did not feeling hungry when I know I shloud. I drank lots of water, the ride home I felt ok if I kept my eyes closed. I will write more when the ativan I took for sleep wers of as i think it is really effecting my typing, sorry BLESSING TO YOU ALL FOR SE FREE DAYS, Deb :) Deb :) Dx 9/9/2008, IDC, 2cm, Stage II, Grade 3, 0/6 nodes, ER-/PR-, HER2- |

please helpCathi, I kinda know what you went thru in lingerie dept my 17 dd wanted to go into Victoria Secret for something I don"t remember and it was just ! week before my mast and I my eyes started to water and I did not want her to see me like that, it was all I could do to get to her and tell her I would wait for her out in the chairs in the mall. I do not know how I made it with out losing it completly. I usually do not post on this thread or much at all but, have been reading since my dx in sept. You all seem like a great bunch of ladies. And Cathi I had my drains in for 2 wks and have had them out 2 wks. It is wonderful but still tender for me when I want to lay on my side. I had a port put in the same day the drains came out and that sucked as I was wanting to feel more "normal" too!!! :) I am having my first treatment as I type. SO far the A went in fine and the C is done now too and I am getting either the placebo or avastin now. I hope all the meds they have given me keep me feeling fine. SO far so good!!!! It is REALLY nice here in Michigan today, 65 and sunny great night for the Kids trick & treating and my 17 dd is going to high school football playoff game. Got to go the social worker just came in to tal. I will update you laler. Have a great SE free night. Deb:) Deb :) Dx 9/9/2008, IDC, 2cm, Stage II, Grade 3, 0/6 nodes, ER-/PR-, HER2- |

Anyone starting chemo in October 08?Hi, All Rockfan, will be going to start our chemo together today is my first infusion also. I was really nrevous all week but yesterday had too much to do. I went grocery shopping and did laundry and packed snacks for today and was able to sleep pretty good. I am still trying to firgue out how to be well hydrated and not have to stop and pee on my 2 hour car ride to the tx center.:) This week I really FREAKED out about my hair. I went to 2 wig banks and finally found one short one that would be ok with a ball cap on it. I bought some bandana's and a couple hats also. I know it will grow back and like Annie said maybe I will learn something about myself as I have always had long hair and it ws a big part of me. I do not ususally use much make up so I need to try that I am sure my 17 dd will have fun helping me. ALL have a wonderful SE free day & I will check later today if up to it after 9-10 hour day. Clinical Trial E5103Hi All, I am off to my first tx tomorrow. Happy Trick or Treat. How long were there for your first one? I think it is going to be a long day we live abour 2 hrs away and I think they said all the iv prep infusions take about 1 hr and the 1/2 for A the 1 1/2 for C the first time with ? Avastin 1 1/2. SO about 5 hrs iv stuff. Dr & lab before another 1hr and 2 hrs drive home. Hopefully the drive will just 1 1/2 each way. Yeserday I ran into construction when I went to my po appt. I am still having to get some drainage pulled off my mast site, any of you have to do that?
